so what about iDevices with no headphone jack? Does it work with the provided dongle that apple gives you? Also, have you thought about an updated version with USB instead of 3.5mm audio jack. this could provide an easy way to record and interact with an iDevice or Computer.

Sounds great, and you can also add AU effects in Midi Guitar BUT... it is impossible to play with somebody else, or even sing, because Midi guitar takes midi from microphone :( Would be great if audio from guitar would go through cable :)

Just received my TWA and it is amazing. Downloaded the midi guitar 2 and Sampletank CS apps but cannot for the life of me get it to work. Grrrr. Usually pretty good with electronic things but this is driving me a bit batty. I must be missing something?

I downloaded midi guitar 2 also, but didn't get the request to use my iPhone mic, so I can allow midi guitar to access the iPhone mic. Since this is permanent (per Apple), I downloaded the guiboard app. I was able to allow mic access (see video for details). I had to pay for the $10 upgrade, but it works. Open sampletank first. Then open guiboard and go to second page by dragging finger on screen. Then scroll to sampletank for input selection.

I set up my TWA with paid versions of MidiGuitar and SampleTank using the iDevice cable I got along with my TWA. Using an iPad Pro 12.5” top of the line. I can just barely hear the sound from SampleTank. I’ve tried adjusting everything I can find, to no avail. Can’t seem to find anyone with a solution, but I have had several other people say they’ve had the same problem. Did I just waste all that money? Frustrated!

Is the volume up on your guitar pick-up? And (though I don't know yet), does the volume and/or gain on the TWA setting have affect the overall volume sent to the i-device? Just a thought...

I am having the same issue as everyone else. This video is dated and looks nothing like the Midi Guitar 2 app i downloaded. Midi guitar app shows input as iPad microphone, also the output levels from TWA are so low it barely moves the input meter. I’ve increased master gain to 100% and gain to 25 and nothing. Extremely frustrating.

David Fisher well, since nobody from TWA seems to monitor this, I’ll answer your question two years late. It’s a Fender CD-140SCE. I just bought the mahogany version and for under $350 it’s a damn nice guitar!

No because Ovations have very round bodies, there for the Tone wood amp has no spot to rest evenly on the body. if your Ovation has a relatively flat body/back then it might work. hope this helps =)

Lengua Negra it's being reworked for iOS 12 and should be back soon. You can use Guiboard as a pitch to midi alternative!

Hi Scotty. Unfortunately, all of these apps were written only for iOS. These are third-party apps (not ours) and the vendors of these apps found that only iOS devices can provide what they need in terms of uniformity of devices and hardware capabilities. In other words: we don't have any preferences which device you will use, but the fact is that as of today, these apps were written only for iOS devices.

You could always get Virtual Box and run iOS in a window. If you have an I7 with a lot of memory it would probably work just fine. I'm talking about running it on a Windows PC though. Hopefully, Tonewood Amp fixes this issue, and writes some software for Windows and Android users. That would probably gain them soooo many more sales of their wonderful product. If you are anything like me, you absolutely loathe any Mac product.

ToneWoodAmp surprisingly after writing this comment I played around with the town Tonewood amp with the app and it works. I only need to put the alarm volume up to the highest on the phone and then i can get the audio come out from the tone wood amp on the guitar sound hole. Yeah it works fine now the only thing that brothers me is that it doesn’t really work with drums and the Congos for these specific instrument it doesn’t work but mostly with strings with the get the guitar sound and the piano it works just fine

The midi apps will rely totally on your iPhone or iPad volume to send the signal into the ToneWoodAmp. Always be sure any other apps that use the speakers are closed when you start, and that the volume is all the way up! Most of the percussive patches won't trigger well to the notes, but you can enable latching for the pattern and have them play in the background. Also, feel free to experiment with other apps that can make drum beats and feed those into your ToneWoodAmp.
