Using an inductive heater for bearing installation

I found that my miniductor venom works great for bearing heating and installation. I used the miniductor mini pad that was original purchased for some decal removal.

Good idea, I didn't realize these are so fast. Nice to see the thermal imaging used in conjunction. When I was putting a new cook stove into our house, we didn't have the 40A wiring necessary for one of these we wanted, so went with older style.

I have to find as many uses as I can since I don’t have a lot of rust in Colorado. Those new cook stoves are pretty demanding but have lots of features. One of my employees installed one over the weekend that has a blower that runs for 20 minutes after the oven has been used. I don’t see how that is efficient. I always just crack the door after cooking to heat up the house a bit in the winter.

It worked better than I expected and now I use it often. Inner and outer pinion bearings and even transmission bearing.

Have you ever used the mini-ductor to remove a bearing from a shaft?

I’ve never tried but I think the shaft would heat up at a similar rate as the bearing. The expansion of the shaft may keep it tight to the bearing race.
