I love my Africa Twin, but I hate that I have to connect a headset and use USB cable to use Android Auto.... On top of those things, I'm told to use the USB cable that came with my phone but that isn't even possible since my phone comes with USB-C to USB-C cable and there is no USB-C connection on the Africa Twin.... Bluetooth can't be that hard to enable Honda. Please change this as I have a Samsung Galaxy Note20 (a popular phone). I've tried aftermarket "Data Transfer" cables and they don't work either. Honda, you need to listen to the feedback of your customers. Allow Bluetooth connection for Android Auto and remove the headset requirement. I'm a big boy, I can make my own safety/personal well being decisions, thanks :)

TBH having to use a cable is a deal breaker for me.

Wish Honda had more regular updates. Android Auto on the Africa Twin is years behind Android Auto current release. Even if they just keep it at current version -1 Also how hard can it be to add Bluetooth to the bike with Bluetooth multipoint so use Android Auto wirelessly and connect a headset

I have a question. What is the correct connection set up for Android auto. Headset to bike and phone to bike via Bluetooth as well as phone to bike via cable? Or is it only headset to bike via Bluetooth and phone via cable? I ask because i have every function except the bike doesnt recognise any Audio from my microphone. I tried (i think) every combination of connection. Replacemed my headset with a new one and tried other phones. Same issue. I can only assume ita a connection issue or software. My honda dealer didnt even look at the set up and just said straight away it was an issue with my headset or phone.

Why does one have to have a bluetooth headset connected to use navigation? That is silly. I don't care about phone, music and such, I just want navigation on screen.
@HondaPowersports-OutdoorCanada3 жыл бұрын
Honda integrated the Bluetooth headset function for safety, as it allows for more handsfree functions via voice control and response. Unfortunately, the navigation function via CarPlay is linked to this process and is still required to activate.

@@HondaPowersports-OutdoorCanadaRidiculous, but thanks Mommy Honda. I find trying to control my Android using Google Assistant super distracting because it constantly fails to understand the simplest commands. The situation can't become better given with road and helmet noise. Using keypad controls is far safer. In short, Android on Africa Twin is 100% nonstarter. 0 out of 10 points.

Why oh why can't it be used without a headset? I only want some simple on screen navigation. It's something apple users have complained about so you put it on the android for us to complain about too 🤦♂️

Thank you for reaching out. Currently, the CRF1100 TFT screen navigation does require a headset for connection. We will share your comments with our product team for future consideration.

You pair it once then you dont need it. Even pair a boom box or something then just leave the pairing on the bike. When it asks to connect say no and it will load anyway.

I have trouble probably due to the cable connection. My original one is a USB-C - USB-C. I already tried to but several one and the morbyke lose the connection with the phone every few moment... It would be kind if Honda allowe the BT direct connection or tell us that kind of cable would be safe to be used.

I have installed this android update. Can I use this purely as a navigation system, without phone etc?
@HondaPowersports-OutdoorCanada3 жыл бұрын
Hi Deborah, our product team advised that the system must be connected to your phone and a headset to engage all applicable Apps for Android Auto and CarPlay. Please refer to your Owner's Manual or local Honda dealer for more details. You can find your nearest Canadian Honda dealer here motorcycle.honda.ca/dealerlocator

Can I ask (as I can't find anything in the owners manual that helps). How after connecting a head set and phone to the bike do you then get comms with the head set to other riders? As this seems to conflict with the number of available channels on several of my headsets.
@HondaPowersports-OutdoorCanada3 жыл бұрын
Hi Devon, we would recommend reaching out to your local Honda dealership so they can look into this for you. You can locate your nearest Honda dealership here: motorcycle.honda.ca/dealerlocator Please feel free to reach out to our Customer Relations Team at 1-888-946-6329 (Monday to Friday from 8am to 8pm EST) if you have any further questions.

After connecting to Android Auto the tft screen freezes or hangs and I cannot go back to the normal screen until I switch on and off. I am in Kenya, no dealer here, please advise how to sort this issue

Hi Rohit, as our page represents Honda's Canadian division, we cannot answer questions about products from other countries. We did find a link to a list of Honda Motorcycle dealers in Kenya, please reach out to a local dealer for assistance - ke.honda/en/motorcycles/dealer.html

I wonder: after paring the phone to the motorcycle, can Android Auto be used via the bluetooth connection to the phone?

Yes, Bluetooth connectivity is possible with Android Auto and is required for some features.

@@HondaPowersports-OutdoorCanada So, you can connect your phone to the motorcycle via bluetooth, headset to the motorcycle via bluetooth, and ignore the USB-cable? I think, seeing the first reply, that my question was not 100% clear. The only thing I can find is the USB-cable being required for Android Auto to work. If the USB-cable is constantly required to connect the phone to the motorcycle, that's not really ideal.
@HondaPowersports-OutdoorCanada3 жыл бұрын
Correction to our last statement - both iPhone and Android Auto users must use a USB cable to connect to the bike and only the headset is a BlueTooth connection. Sorry for any confusion.

Hello, I've got a unique issue with my headset and my '21 Africa Twin. I can't seem to find anyone else who has the issue. I have looked on the Honda website for a support section, but can't seem to find one for Android Auto related issues. Can you refer me to someone who may be able to help me? Thanks.

Anyone else running into the issue that if im playing music (for example the spotify app) via android auto on my africa twin, the volume in my headset is much much lower compared to when i listen to music just with my phone and headset (so the sound isnt controlled by the africa twin) ? Im using a OnePlus Nord running the latest software and pair of galaxy buds. All volume inside my phone is set to maximum, but the music through the africa twin feels like its at 30% (i made sure the volume slider of the AT is at max as well)
@RMW903 жыл бұрын
You need to adjust the music when listening to it on the bike using the volume key. I had the same issue with the gps voice but when he talks i can change his volume any other time is the main volume.

Honda, I do not need this crap. I bought the bike and it took me whole day to read manual. 90% of it dedicated to driving mode tweaks i.e how to limit power of the bike, traction control etc. DISAPPOINTING selling the bike.
