underrated use: Fixing mistakes. Like when I was suffering from insomnia and decided to build a model and accidentally chopped a gun barrel off thinking it was part of the sprue. It was either free battle damage or just make a mold of his identical twin

I tried mold making years ago but just had issues with the materials and the resin not setting correctly or having all sorts of air bubbles. This is a much more user friendly and less messy process. That Sentinel turned out great; frankly don't care what GW or anyone else thinks making replacement or entire models, so long as it's for personal use.

For me it’s taken quite a lot of practice and experimenting over the years to get to this point, I do still use rubber molds and resin but I find it much harder and has more issues than this method, I find the only limit with blue stuff can be size, rubber molds are easier when doing bigger projects. Glad you liked the vid!

Great work as usual dude. I love blue stuff, I’m 90% sure that it was your video on making a chronomancer and the previous blue stuff video, oh and the DG daemon prince that got me started with this. Thank you, you never fail to inspire 👍🏻 Have fun and stay safe dude 😁
@adamshobbystuff Жыл бұрын
Thanks mate 😃 just wanted to do an update to that video as although I still do most things the same I’ve gradually experimented and have added a couple of things into how I use it, loved doing that chronomancer, still one of my most enjoyable builds!

Had purchased a mortarion model second hand off ebay, missing a wing and a ton of bits and wasn’t sure what to do, but this video may be the answers to all my questions! Great video!
@adamshobbystuff Жыл бұрын
A friend made casts of mortarions wings for a daemon Prince conversion so it can definitely be done, the challenge on yours would be making it fit the opposite side to what it’s designed to do, should be a fun project! One thing to think of is putting some internal wires to the wings to give it some additional strength.

Compiling a shopping list for my hobby room, and this video is the reason why Blue Stuff and Miliput are included. Looking forward to mess around moulding some gubbins for my models.

To all, please wear PPE when handling your epoxy. You’ll be fine handling it bare handed until one day you aren’t, and then you will be screwed. Wear gloves so you can handle it without fear of messing yourself up in the future.
@adamshobbystuff3 ай бұрын
Good advice, personally I use liquid gloves which I have mentioned in some videos but not all, I’ll try and make a point of mentioning it more regularly.

Green stuff is non toxic goober
@someguy24412 ай бұрын
Milliput is a two part epoxy, as is Green Stuff. While epoxy putty is typically less hazardous than epoxy resin, it can still cause toxicity or allergic reactions with improper handling. Additionally, some can develop a sensitivity to this stuff and cause themselves significant harm. Ultimately, each person must decide the level of risk they are willing to accept.

This is perfect. I am looking to make up some classic early 2000’s fantasy armies and buying a ton of old models will be costly but if I can recast parts that will make it so much easier and allow more customisation
@adamshobbystuff11 ай бұрын
This sort of casting is ideal for older models that are more static poses than modern minis, hope it works well for you!

@@adamshobbystuff i have some of the “newer” ones like the early 2010’s empire gunners who are more mobile looking but with this I can make more accessories and other ways i can make the bodies 👍

Great video, very informative. I'm gonna try to clone some cadian shock troops torsos and legs, so I can build more variants from the kit. I'm wondering if it's even doable though without losing all the small details.

Once you are used to using it you’d be amazed at the level of detail you can get with it, practice makes perfect.

Really usefull tips & funnily enough Im at the part of the hobby where Im eyeing my bluestuff & sprue goo Good timing :D The only issue Ive had with bluestuff is lines in the material & Im assuming its cooling before I get it set. Thermos will help.
@adamshobbystuff Жыл бұрын
I found that once I started using it a few years ago I can’t now stop! So much you can do with it and the more you use it the more you learn. Thermos definitely helps with keeping the blue stuff workable.
