Thanks for showing everything with details and not overlooking anything. I hate it when someone does a video like this and skips something like a diode orientation. Did you do it on a factory alternator? If so do you recon it's still as reliable, nothing wrong with it so far? I might try to add 2 of these to get up to 15V. I dont want any more because I know it will screw up my alternative fuel computer but I want to use that extra bit of lithium capacity since I don't have space to add more banks.

Hi Shane and thank you so much for this vedio which inspired me to try it and it worked partially with one diode 4004 and got a raise of 0.23v, I was hoping for 14.7 and my initial volt was 14.3 , with a hyundai tucson diesel, an odyssey ODX-AGM34R which needs 14.4 to 14.8 v charge. When I added 2 diodes using connectors I still get 14.53 max same as one diode !! Do you think I should solder the 2 diodes in between, or may be my voltage is ECU controlled to max at 14.5v only ?? Cheers, Talat

@@Husky_Shane_BassHead Awesome So what exactly are the diodes doing?
@Husky_Shane_BassHead Жыл бұрын
@@scamchan well, I don’t fully understand it but. Basically, the sense wire is what sends the signal to the regulator to tell it what voltage to put out. The diodes are resistors that lower the voltage that the cpu is sensing so it tells the regulator to up the voltage because the diodes make the cpu think it is in a state of too low of voltage.

You're not really reading the charging voltage until the batteries catch up. Current is being supplied to the batteries, but they limit the voltage until they charge completely. Let it run, and see where it settles, and that's your charging voltage. BTW, each series diode adds ~0.7 volts to the charging voltage.
