Using electrolysis to remove rust from this British Naval Officers Sword

Removing rust with electrolysis means that the surface isn’t damaged as it would be by either using abrasives or harsh reactive chemicals.
In this way the fine etching on the surface of this sword can be preserved

Beautiful job on restoring that lovely sword. Given the Tudor crown, it dates from between 1901 and 1952. Prior to 1929 RN swords were sabres, with a very slight curve (only visible looking down the length of the blade) and with a heavier blade. After 1929, they became essentially smaller, finer court swords. There should be a royal cipher engraved on the blade which would help narrow the dates down even further. I hope this helps!
