he's not putting thread sealant on the threads, he's putting it on the olive mating surfaces which will help seal the joint.

The mechanical tool is a hydraulic crimping jaw . It crimps the fitting onto the pipe to lock the pipe and fitting together. The sealing is done by an O ring .

Got to be honest I was hoping to see something special when it mentioned all the plumbing skills,maybe a vid should be done from the start"like when you got to carry your tools to the house cos you can't park close,when you got to carry your stuff up hundreds of steps,when you got to move a shit load of stuff and pull up carpets and floorboards to run your pipes,once your job is done show us how clean and tidy you have left Mrs Jones,s house etc

Funnily enough it was a mile to school and a mile back,and yes we also walked in the snow,and in the early 80,s when we had the snowdrifts I also walked 2half miles to work and the same back,ITS CALLED GETTING ON WITH IT

Yes I’ve always thought the same way about the “O”rings failing at some point. I’m a dinosaur I guess and will always use copper and either soft solder or silver braze the joints. Also where there is a risk of fire during hot work I’ll use flared compression fittings instead.

The O ring doesn’t make the seal Google the process of a Viega pro press fitting. The stop sign shape it presses the pipe and fitting into actually makes the seal. You can press it without the o ring up to 3000 psi. I thought the same thing for years because I didn’t know any better. I use to talk crap on press. There’s even a hole in the fitting where water will leak out of if not properly seated. It’s marked by a green dot. (I learned a lot by educating myself with truth not rumors.)

actually he did it just right, nearly equal pipe lenght to all the ends. That means they will get nearly equal pressure, a loop won't make it any better

They are female wall plate elbows and are made of brass so can't be crimped like copper

why do they put pipe dope, plumbers joint compound, or whatever it’s called on those threads. the threads doesn't seal it. There’s a flange and that flange is the part the seals it not the threads. so why put pipe dope on the threads?

Yes he's British . We use pipe benders to increase flow rates and decrease pressure loss through tight bends .

@@dennisphoenix1 I love that idea. It's so rare in practice over here that I couldn't buy the tools needed to bend 1/2" nor 3/4" copper pipes. I had to just use fittings instead because I didn't have a choice.

Why bend the copper? The added curve decreases pressure more by friction loss especially when two pro press 90s could have been used? Which set of codes does your state enforce?

Nun als erstes fällt mir auf der Installateur nimmt keine Isolierung. Danach warum Kupfer? Wir leben im 21ten Jahrhundert und welcher Installateur verwendet noch Kupfer? Rehau, Prineto, Kelith usw also Aluverbundrohr! Dann wenn er schon Kupfer verwendet warum verpresst er nicht alles? Wandscheibe löten Bögen Pressen und Biegen, Warum diese Mühe? Und warum fährt man nicht direkt vom Boden ohne diese unnötigen Ausweichbögen zu machen auf den Unterputzmischer? Ja warum gerade vom Mischer hinauf zur Regenwaldbrause? Viel Spaß beim komplettieren und Anbohren der Brausestange! Rohrbruch vorprogrammiert🤣 und wer bitte reinigt die Lötstellen das macht niemand die Zeit hat niemand! Also dieses Video ist schön für KZbin mit der richtigen Arbeit eines Installateurs hat das gar nix zu tun nicht einmal als Lehrvideo. Holzständerwände also USA, kein Wunder das dort die Häuser beim leichtesten Windstoß abheben wie beim Zauberer von Oz. Dem geb ich hier in Österreich keine 5 Tage am Bau…

So much emphasis on using thread sealant where none should be used. The threads there are used for clamping not sealing like a regular pipe thread.

Body sprays went out of style 47 years ago 😂. Just like your soft copper tools😂. Clean work though…If you don’t mind rattling pipes because your holes are too small for pipe isolators.
