We always "parched" peanuts with the shell on. They're much easier to shell then. And I'm as southern as you get, and I've Never eaten boiled peanuts!

The rampacante squash has been around a few years they are very prolific and I prefer them young in place of zuchini they have a better texture and a nutty flavor I then leave a few to mature and use as winter squash they are quite mild tho and we peel and cut the long neck flesh in cubes and roast with chili spices and olive oil

I like pealing my luffas before they get too dry because mine tend to get the bruised discolored spots when I wait too long. I always have to pull mine early as well because of a shorter growing season.

With your peanuts they are fine The best way to do them is either make candy peanut, peanut brittle or fry them they would be considered raw peanut

That food mill is really nice. I see it on other channels. I bought a mill, but its hand cranked. Im using it for the first time for the upcoming holidays. Lol...not a great time to practice, but i have a easy forgiving family. Ive baked two loves just in case! The bread looks delicious ❤ Happy Thanksgiving to you and family! 🦃

Loved your peanut harvest. I’ve never seen anyone else grow peanuts so that was really neat to see. You’re the reason I’m going to try my hand at growing my own loofa sponges next year. I think it’s so cool to be able to grow your own sponges! Jessica over at Three Rivers Homestead did a video about a month ago where she showed how she soaks her loofa sponges in a hydrogen peroxide solution to help disinfect them and brighten them up a bit. Those whoopie pies looked delicious!! I might have to try making them. Happy Thanksgiving friend! PS I just want to say that I love how homey your house is. I feel like many KZbinrs have such sterile looking homes. Everything is white and stainless steel. I love how yours has color, texture and decorations. It’s very warm and inviting feeling!
@seedandsparrowhomestead11 ай бұрын
Yay! They are so fun to grow! Thanks for that info from Jessica! I’ll be doing that for sure. Aw thank you 😭 ❤️ that’s exactly how I want my home to feel. I’ll never understand sterile homes that don’t look like people live there!

Kelsey the bread looked so beautiful! I love the idea of combining fresh milled flour with the all purpose flour. I’m going to make bread today and I think I’ll use your recipe but without fresh milled flour. I also found the peanut project quite fun. It does take a lot of space to grow peanuts and like you our space is limited so getting the most out of it is important. The peanuts looked lovely. I’m not remembering if you said how the family liked them. Sending warm wishes to you and yours for a beautiful Thanksgiving. Give thanks to the Lord for He is good indeed. God Bless you friend. 🍁🧡

I just adore your adventurous soul in the garden and kitchen alike!! Over the years, I have always added one or two "new" grows in my gardens. Sometimes more. And I'm always trying a new recipe here in my kitchen. As I say to all my little ones, "Trying something new, shouldn't be something new"!!! Your pumpkin whoopie pies are peaking my interest. I personally don't eat sweets much, but my family loves them! I just tried a pumpkin cheesecake snickerdoodle recipe over the past weekend, and it was a major hit. Tonight it was an Indian dish. Butter chicken, incredible golden chicken pieces in a creamy curry sauce. I am so blessed to have found you here on KZbin. Wishing you and your family a wonderfully blessed Thanksgiving holiday.

The way you process the peanuts doesn't have to go through all that process you can just cure them and eat them raw as is that's how I enjoyed mine in the raw state. Thanks for sharing with us. Blessings to you❤👍

Love the new hair cut. 🙂 I'm always amazed at how easily you work with bread. Your video on making a months worth of bread in one day was the first of your videos I ever watched and now I watch everything you post. I can never seem to get my bread to be so easy to work with after rising. It stays so sticky. 😂 Granted, i do not bake very often and I dread kneading by hand, so I'm sure that does not help. I'm hoping to get a kitchaid mixer soon. That's a bummer your peanut harvest didn't turn out better than it did, it was certainly interesting to see how you handled them.

I agree, peanuts are fun ( I’m a Georgia girl after all ) but they are like growing dry beans, you need a bit of dedicated space to be worth the return. I moved to Missouri and I have less growing space so I order raw peanuts from Georgia to can up boiled peanuts to have when I’m missing home.
@seedandsparrowhomestead11 ай бұрын
Yes! For sure. Maybe one day I can dedicate more space but this is precisely why I don’t do beans either.
