I started doing this monthly in between bleaching every 3 months (bleach 4 times a year instead of 12) and there’s a huge difference! Usually in those months I’ll do a root tap, but my hair feels MUCH better. Anyhow, love your channel! Thanks for your content!

I’ve learned that with highlight if you go in after 20 minutes and reapply it’ll lift a little more 😊 maybe try that and see it’ll lift a few shades more ❤

Wella Koloston Perfect special blonde is a great line. I’ve used it for 18 years+ … You mix it 1:2 ratio & leave it on up to 60 minutes 🫶🏻

I’ve been using Wella Koleston Special Blonde for months now and it’s a game changer for me! I’m way less worried about damage and it lifts and tones in one step. I’m a level 8 and I do it every 5 weeks or so and it turns out perfect! I like a creamy blonde and 12/96 and 12/0 equal parts gives me that 💛

High lift is so underrated! Yea there's warmth, but the benefits outway it not being a white level 10. I use a developer from trionics that is 50 vol and scalp safe, it doesn't irritate the skin any more than 40 would, but you get more lift!!

Yaaaaaay, so glad u finally did Hilift. From the research I did, leave on for at least 1hr. Some other stylists do 1hr to lift and an extra 10-15mins to tone.

If you continue to re-touch with hi-lift colour, you can always overlap onto the previous band to give it an extra boost to platinum and then the slightly darker new growth could be toned down with a level 8/9 ash if you’re staying blonde for a bit :) it’ll kinda look like you always have a subtle root shadow.

❤it!!! Now I’m gonna talk to my hairdresser about using high lift color instead of bleach. I am so done with breakage!!! To the point of I don’t want to use bleach anymore at all. Just let my natural hair/ grey come in and say screw it! But then I can’t be pink so that keeps me going to her to get bleach high lites. 😂 I’m so wishy washy with what I want for my hair! 💖💖💖 I hope to go to Sally’s this weekend and get the Iroiro pink! I hope it stays in my hair like it did yours!

We use the Iroiro Neon Pink on my daughter’s hair, on the underneath hair. She showers in as close to boiling water as she can and it does fade. However, it turns a really pretty peachy-pink and doesn’t fade much from there.

I do something like this as well. I do a bleach out of my crown and bangs every 3 months and in between that, I use highlift colour on my level 2 (grey) roots. it leaves the dark part of my hair lifted with a bit of brass and my gray (front) is platinum blonde. Then I just go over the brass with a level 7 or 8N/A demi to darken it or neutralize it. I love this as it's easier to do with extensions in my head as well. Can take them out every three months to bleach, then colour in between. Wella Koleston Special Blonde is awesome. Thanks for this video.

I am so happy you did this as my high lift beige blonde (violet based) was discontinued and the others I’ve tried aren’t high lift. I’m willing to go 30 but not 40! I can’t wait to try this! (I thought your platinum hair looked rather blueish after you did the lift but the new roots looked natural blonde.

That looks like great results. When you said 40vol i was like omg girl i think 30 would have been enough. But then i was like you were a stylist and do your hair more so you might know more than me. Was also little worried with the sizzling sound you said you could hear but it all turned out so good

I've made this same experiment! 😂 It's not bad, but I'm extremely obsessed with achieving almost white results, so I prefer bleaching. As someone said earlier, you should try Wella special blondes, as much as I love Igora and Schwarzkopf in general, Wella higlifts are way better, I have used them to be blonde (I mean, not to put any colour on top) and my hair was Targaryen blonde.

I used to work with Schwarzkopf educators, -1 is blue/violet (equal parts) and -2 is straight blue, -9 is violet/pink just for reference :)

I had to switch to high lift after suddenly having a massive allergic reaction to bleach after using it for over 20 years. My hairdresser can get my hair to a level 10 with it. Definitely a good option.

Love it. I use high lift and I have dark hair and I started like a year ago for the same reason, I need it a break but didn't wanted to completely stop. I use pravana the violet one and that one takes me to like a 6, but I'm using red now so it works like a charm

I switched to hi lift a year ago. I'm so glad I did. I'm a natural lv3. So I have to two rounds. But it's still less damage than bleach. Also I fo one round back to front than front to back. Turn out perfectly even. :)

I am probably a level 5, so pretty dark, and have done goldwell high lift 11a with double 40 volume and 1/4 of the formula blonding cream ash and have also done double process bleach 20 volume. My hair was in definite better condition with the high lift color despite double 40 volume and an ammonia booster. Yes, a bit more warmth but the better condition of my hair was worth it.

I second the suggestion to use Wella Koleston perfect! I'm a natural level 4 and 12/0 with 30vol got me to a level 8, since your hair is way lighter, your results would be even better!

I used the schwarzkopf high lift 12-1 with just 30 vol and it turned my hair light orange but then after few days i tried it second time but this time i put bag on my head and it lifted to a nice cool blonde also leaved it for 50 min both times

I’m a natural level 6 and I used to do high lift instead of bleach every 4 weeks and I loved how it’s a single process no toning needed. Besides that I somehow got back to bleaching with a low developer after being a high lift for over two years just because the high developer and my scalp didn’t work for me. I had white spots on my nape that stayed for a whole day. My hair did feel softer but as whole my scalp didn’t like the 40v 😬

Also have seen (i think its new at walmart) or tried color oops fix and fortify its supposed to gently remove color for curly, coily, wavy, or textured hair, while the mask that comes with it helps strengthen, fortify, and nourish the hair. It makes me wonder how it works, and how well it would work for those with straight hair too....i know your hair gets damaged a lot so i curious how well the mask would work for you.

I used hi lift for my roots for a while and it actually did give my hair a nice break! Plus you can touch up sooner than you would with bleach, because it’s not going to murder your hair to overlap. The overlapping can give a bit of extra lift to the previous section anyway!

Try using 7-10 vol developer, it gives you soooo much time to work and it lifts just as well

The best blonde high lift i used when my hair was bra strap length white blonde (im a natural level 7) was l'oreal Majiblonde in 10 & 1/2 (and a half) .1 (or .2 if .1 was out of stock). Id alternate between bleaching and high lift, I used 30 volume with the Majiblonde. It doesnt work as well with 20 at all, and 20 or with the bleach depending on how bad the banding was from the previous session as id overlap (bad, i know, but my hair could take it). I saw your roots have come out a level down, and warm toned, honestly, try the Majiblonde in the colour I suggested, (im a trained im a trained hairstylist and used this on certain clients too). My hair is currently waist length and a level 3 into dark green. I keep trying to go blonde again, then giving up at orange, I also dont want to have to cut 6 inches off my hair due to damaging it 😂

Leave it on for an hour. It doesn’t deposit color until it’s lifted enough. Try wella they also have a great highlight. And try a higher volume just do not overlap.

Amazing results!!!! And for healthier hair I'd take light yellowy roots anyday!!! Maybe next time you can try to start from the back you know, maybe it won't be more noticeable than the front! And after months if you think a higher lift is needed you can just lightly bleach and drag down or do some highlights to give more dimension idk just a thought of mine❤ Ps. I tried Ion Bondbar high lift violet and found out that 40 volume developer was a TERRIBLE idea on my roots. I ended up breaking off chunks of hair when I tried to pull it through to clean up some brassy roots. However, color-wise, I started at about a level 2 brown and went to about a level 7 copper on those roots. With enough toner (or toning shampoo lol), it makes a decent root shadow. I think I'm going try again to with the Ion high lift ash blonde (and add some of their Bondbar stuff) but stick to a 30 volume. (That's the one you tested a while back and found it was bluish, because that should work better with the roots.)

So the reason I started using lightener instead of highlift is because I couldn't keep vivids over highlift blonde. It would fade out in a wash or 2. The hair wasn't porous enough.

I use these as toners if i want to lift a little bit more after rincing the bleach . Now on virgin hair they don't tone very well it always comes orange even on lv 6-7 no matter what shade you chose ghey r all the same. Idk what Schwarzkopf tested them on to make such claims lol
