I intended to focus on the trick mixing part but I ended up spending more time explaining how Instant Doubles works in Serato. This is another valuable feature and skill to use when mixing.

Records were so expensive! I used to go to Fat Beats and buy doubles at about $5.50 per record so $11 a pair. I don’t miss those vinyl days! Plus you had to store them and keep them from warping, you’d burn out the grooves quickly, etc.

Yeah, people forget about that part of DJing with vinyl. I still have a ton of records and they are staying at home unless I'm doing a set at an all vinyl party.

I would like to know if this mixer (numark scratch) can unlock the "4 decks" function in serato dj pro. By connecting this mixer to serato dj pro, can you play the 4 decks inside serato dj pro? Does the "instant doubles" function work to move tracks from deck 1 to deck 2 then from deck 3 to deck 4? Thanks.
@logisticalstyles9 ай бұрын
No, this mixer is only capable of using 2 decks with Serato DJ Pro.

Have you created that beat you are using? Please, where you did it?
@logisticalstyles3 жыл бұрын
Yes, I made this beat with the Launchpad app. It's a cool app that lets you combine loops and samples to make your own remixes and beats. I use it for most of my videos because it allows me to not have to worry about copyright issues.

Greetings mate ,off the topic question i'm currently torn between a Numark Scratch and Reloop Kut that mentioned i'm not a scratch dj but would'nt mind getting into it ,im actually after serato i dont want to buy a serato box in addition to a mixer,also it dont have a huge budget so mixers in this price range seems to fit my budget...After using the Scratch for some time now, would you recommend it? tx, by the way very impressive videos and mixing skills, been watching your video frequently ... tx Angelo

Thanks for checking out the channel! I don’t have any experience with the Reloop but the Numark Scratch is a good mixer for your situation especially is you are looking for a Serato enabled mixer at a budget friendly price. Last April I upgraded to the Rane Seventy for DJ gigs and now I have the Scratch set up in my living room for playing my vinyl collection.

I use instant doubling quite often because my dj partner normally uses my other Rane Twelve when we dj together. In that case, we both typically dj with only one deck…so doubling to one side helps to get another song ready for the next transition. Glad to see someone else showing this feature in a tutorial. Great demonstration brother. Holla.

What are the sources for lines 1 and 2 in the hardware mixer? I assume one is the turntable, but what's the other?
@logisticalstyles Жыл бұрын
Everything is coming from the computer via the USB connection. If I'm only using one deck then the other is internal mode.

But I have a question for you, do you have a problem with the tension of the control disc on the 12s building up too quickly? I probably can’t scratch for more than 5 minutes without having to use the quick adjust on the spindle and lift up. Any tips on that? Fwiw if I have the Serato butter rugs under 12 discs…
@logisticalstyles3 жыл бұрын
I used to get a feeling that the disc would tighten up sometimes. Ever since I swapped out the control disc I haven't had that problem. I've tried the Rane slip mats and the Serato butter rugs. Right now I'm actually using the Pioneer slipmats that came with the Pioneer turntable and they work great.
@outdevo3 жыл бұрын
@@logisticalstyles Thanks for replying! You swapped them out with those custom Mandalorian discs you use? Where did you get those? Or did you buy new ones and put on your own decal?
@outdevo3 жыл бұрын
@@logisticalstyles I just bought some Dr. Suzuki Skratch slip mats I hope alleviate the issue. It must be both that the design of the twelves with the small screw sticking into the spindle just can’t keep the wait of the disc up slightly in the air and that the butter rugs just aren’t they good. Given that they are a Q-Bert product I’m surprised.
