How can you make joint cutters? Those things are very complex. Want to make a double ball joint one

You are a GREAT teacher...compared to some others on Zbrush...thank you for doing this video! (One thing: why leave a gap in the body/head?)

If it‘s for the purpose of 3D printing, especially for resin printing, you often leave a little room (1mm at most in my experience) because while curing the resin will grow or shrink depending on the resin and printer. For example your key might not fit into it‘s slot because the slot shrank a little during printing, and the key is now too big. I hope this explanation helps a little.
@hazonku2 жыл бұрын
You sure do. I've learn from printing other's perfectly keyed models that because the resin or filament will shrink in the curing or printing process you're gonna end up filing & sanding if there isn't at least a little space.

After 3d printing few models, I came to a conclusion that the key should be bit smaller than the hole.

Not bad, but this works only on T poses. What if I have a more complex mesh with a dynamic pose, that I want to use for a diorama?
@Polygonlin Жыл бұрын
This will work on any sort of pose. You just need to key it like he showed how. Its all about splitting the model up, is all. Ive literally used this method dozens of times now.

Not sure if my point can come across but I wanna ask if this type of booleans could help hold the parts together under light shaking situations because we can clearly for example put the arm key into the hole on the shoulder easily and they perfectly fit but will it be tight enough to hold the parts and the arm not fall out.
@TimV7772 жыл бұрын
I think you have to glue it
@teabagNBG Жыл бұрын
@@TimV777 depends... there are a ton of different joints/keys.. the one from the video is for using glue.. but if they round u can make them snap fit..

Dynamesh seems to be no solution, when it comes to high-detail models. Any details will get lost after that. Any advice?
