Cool! It's also useful to think horizontally two strings in parallel as well as of thinking two positions at the same time!

a trick you can use to learn Cmayor penatonic is the notes form an anagram of the word C.A.G.E.D (descending scale tones C downwards)

I use them for practice since it helps with smoother playing and builds strength in my hands because they lose some grip. When I take them off it seems easier to play though it does change the sound a bit. Scott may be using them because the window is open and it's chilly :)

thanks scott! can you do a lesson on your favorite pentatonic runs / exercises? I sometimes get bogged down in combinations of 5 notes, running out of ideas, or practicing the same modes over and over but with little practical application. not sure if this makes sense or not. maybe i just need to take some lessons from you? ;)

Hi. Suppose there is a I IV V chord pattern in say the key of C major and I wish to create fills using pentatonics. Does that mean that all the fills will be created using the C major pentatonic only? Or can I use the F major and G major pentatonics as well, whenever these chords are being played.

I'm new to bass why would u wanna start from a different finger position? Is this just a Convenience factor? N u stay in that position without moving everywhere

as you progress in your bass playing you will realise that there is liberation and expansion of your ability to be creative if you can play across the whole fretboard

I guess I missed the humor in having a career threatening disability. Maybe you should make jokes about people in wheelchairs just being really tired and needing to sit down. I bet Scott would find that hilarious.

You fail with your wheelchair example. A more relative example would be someone who has a disability that isn't apparent. I'll help you out by citing musicians such as Beethoven and Kenny G who are two among many. Those of us with disabilities don't view ourselves as such and have learned to live with them. My quadriplegic friend who lives in a wheelchair actually laughed at your example. You're far too serious for KZbin and sarcasm has claimed yet another victim. Can we all get along?
