We used it many times growing up. I use it now with my youngest son acne. And thank you for always asking about everyone day. That's just so very sweet. Ppl don't take the time to do that much anymore.

Pine tar is used a lot in the equine world for hooves. It is a staple in any barn. How they figured out it helps with skin care is crazy.. but oh so good for your skin and such! It works great on my sons very sensitive skin. Highlight: I'm still fighting the pink ribbon fight yet another day👍

I don't care for the smell of pine tar soap at all, but it's my boyfriend's favorite and it helps his psoriasis. I had recently ordered that same brand of pine tar so it was great to see it in use before making a batch. Yours came out great!

I kept one of the ends, and that's the only soap I use for my face now and I don't even notice the smell anymore, but GURRRRLLLL, that smell during the curing process is quite wicked!!!! LOL! I do like this brand though, though, it's good stuff!

Texturing the top is so relaxing for me. Sometimes I've got to tell myself "girl, quit playing with it". I was planning an orange pachouli soap this morning and sneezed into a jar of atomic orange mica mixed with iron oxide. I decided "nope, not today" and decided to watch soapy videos instead.

I have the worst time backing away from my soap tops. I drive my mom crazy with over texturing my soaps, LOL! Girl, I made an orange patchouli soap a few weeks ago, and I cannot stop sniffing it, it's so divine! Oh and sis, don't feel bad, once, I sneezed into my last bit of gold and lets just say, I looked like and Oscar, and I was pissed because I had no more gold. I think I ended up watching soaping videos too! Thanks for hanging out with me, since your soap session didn't go as planned.

Pine Tar is something that is not available in my country. However cool tar is and apparently they have the same properties. I've been using a balm with cool tar on my feet for my eczema and in a week it cleared up. I'm definitely going to use it in soap and also order the pine tar on amazon. Will try to get this exact brand you used as the other brand seems pretty thick. Even though I'm now watching this video, the highlight of the day for me is I work up, Thank God; finished cooking lunch since 10 am and I'm now packaging and labelling soap bars while watching soap making videos on you tube. ♥️🤍🖤🇹🇹

Good Morning Beautiful! I can't handle the smell of pine tar. I have the same problem with Neem. They are both really amazing ingredients in soap..maybe I will try again one day. I had a rescue dog that lost all of her hair before I got her and I used pine tar and sulfur on her and her hair came right back. Lemon and lime smells are my favorite. The highlight of my day is my mom is in town visiting. It was awesome to see you make soap! That always brightens my day. I love the top. Let us know how you like it after you use it!

I so want to make a neem soap too but I just think I can get with that smell. I did think to try a neem powder, I don't know if it's less potent, but perhaps one day I'll venture out and make it. Pine tar smell, is certainly is in a league of it's own, LOL! I know exactly how your little rescue doggie smelled because I smelled the same way after having Hunter, LOL! It stanks to high heavens, but it does keep the hair on you! Lemon and lime is always delicious, but sis!!! Spearmint just gets me...Yummm!! I'm so happy you got to hangout with your mom. I make a neem soap. Its the best for itchy skin. I have read to use only 5%. I even tried to make a lotion bar with it and 5% was waaaaayyy too much. Rebatched that lotion bar to 1% and it works great.

I've been stockpiling things I want to add to pine tar soap when I make it later. I have oatmeal and some essential oils so far. I like your idea of using lime, I bet it gives the bar a hint of freshness, which I imagine the pine tar would need :)

I had a bit of alopecia as a child and was made to use pine tar shampoo, so I know exactly what you're smelling! The highlight of my day was when my kitty got trapped in our houseguests' bedroom and I couldn't find her and I made my husband help me look and I was sure she had somehow escaped and we'd find her flat on the busy street we live on and I was on the verge of sobbing uncontrollably and she made a little whimper and I finally figured out where she was! Phew.

Medicinal strength is 22% pine tar or 7.5 ounces. You can use lower percentage and still get some of the pine tar benefits.

You do need to use lye in order to make traditional soap from scratch. The absence of it will leave you with oil and pine tar. It will not saponify.

OMG you're good. I'm so new at soap making I haven't heard of pineTAR soap. After reading the benefits of pine tar - I'd like to try a bar. My husband is loosing his hair (60) is this something he can use for shampoo? Where can I buy one of your bars - I'm in Canada? I also have a son in law to be (covid cancelled their wedding) who has eczema - so will this help him too? I'd like to buy a bar. Thanks

I made a 12% one tear soap with cedar and tea tree (40g/kg of oil), and I feel like I have wasted my essential oils... I can only smell the tar. Next time I'll give a try to a smaller percentage of tar.

Next time, If you have a bit of kaolin clay, mix it with your essential oil before adding it to your batter, it does help to anchor it in cold process soaps. Hopefully this helps because eo are way too expensive for them not to smell like anything in the finished product. Thanks so much for watching and commenting!

I don't know the smell of T-gel, but I can tell you for sure, it does have a very pungent burnt tar smell in my opinion. I'm definitely not a fan of the scent when making it, but once it's cure for a while, I don't mind it at all. Thank so much for watching and asking questions.

I love the benefits but pine tar reeks! I use to have to use Neutrogena T-Gel shampoo for my scalp. I love Pine needle and Lavender essential oil blended together. I love most pine scents too.

@@therealnuvo Sis, I was with you before I made this soap. I thought it would smell like pine sap, but pine tar, in my opinion smells more of burnt wood and asphalt with a undertone of pine. Sap from pine trees is more piney-er, lol, I think😁

@@therealnuvo okay girl, I just nerded out and Googled the difference between the two. Sap is a resin the ooze out when the tree is injured, much like how our blood coagulates over a wound. Pine tar is made by heating pine wood at really high temperatures without it burning. Hence the burnt wood smell! Interesting!! We both learned the difference today 🤣🤣

Hi Kenny. I remember pine tar in soaps and shampoos back in the 60's. They smelled more medicinal than nasty and my brothers loved them during their teens. No claims made here but they had teen acne and greasy skin and I did not. I believe it is still in some soaps and shampoos today so must have something going for it. I believe in the phrase K.I.S.S as in keep it simple st..... the less chemicals and unnecceassry additives the better. Ahhh that is it, Wrights coal tar soap!!! Still sold today. X x x

After curing did the lime hold it’s scent? I’m looking at oils to add to my pine tar soap and was wondering if lime performs like other citrus does in CP soap?

Lime stays nicely in the soap even after months. To help anchor it, try using a bit of kaolin clay and mix your eo with before adding to your batter.
