Beautifully done and nicely explained. I've seen so many videos where they start off with a dark item and then cover it all with the rub n buff. The whole antiquing feel was gone. But the way you advised to leave some of the dark really makes it look aged and much more beautiful. Thank you!

I've tried to use this on brass door knobs and the black just rubs right off 🤷 is there a step I'm missing?

I'm not sure, maybe because it get touched a lot. I might would try to spray a matte sealer over it for protection from all of the hands touching it.

Also if it was shiny new brass that could be the problem because it is so slick. I would try sanding that to scuff it up a bit before using it. Then try a spray sealer. My metal was not slick because it was old and damaged.

Probably mineral spirits

Would have been easier if the marble base had been covered with something before using the Rub-n-Buff. Painters tape or Saran wrap should work.
