Great question. Very much appreciate your guidance on this issue. I understand that the updated Reactive Systems Training manual will have a section on Emerging Strategies. Any idea when this will be available?

Heavy singles are definitely a good tool in the toolbox for a powerlifter to gauge progress and maintain the skill of lifting heavy weight, but IMO programming for powerlifting is still more art than science, especially with some of the new research in exercise science showing variability in what lifters respond to. Also funny reading some of the questions as what they should really be asking is "what do YOU think is best" and "what would be YOUR default replacement".

What would be the default replacement for a 1@8+backoff sets of 3-6 in a microcycle?

Hi, I really enjoy the content on emerging strategies, Do you alternate between higher volume development block and higher intensity one?

You don't have to, but that's a reasonable strategy to experiment with.

Question i have is: in terms of strength gain would it be the best to jump 10lbs or X.xlbs each working set or keep the weight the same every set ?
