My only concern is the old foragers brought over to a small nuc may kill the queen??? They were moved, sprayed with sugar water so who knows. Hope it works out. Keep us informed please.

It will work i have done that before and swapped hives around for all the forgers return to a weak box then move it back at dark no problem at all. ❤️🐝👍

I like the "recycle" bee method, love to see if it works to boost them up a little. Appreciate the time in doing this!

Seems like a really bad transfer. Most of those field bees seem to be flying off. I have done this type of of boosting with success. I generally "wet" the bees with the sugar water. Quickly put them in an empty box on top of the hive separated by a newspaper and quickly close the hive. The only way out is through the brood box after eating through the news paper. In the hours it takes to dry off and eat through the paper they would have come in contact with the pheromones of the new queen. On exiting the hive they also have to do an orientation. This method seems to work. The evidence I have seen is a colony mooing from 4 frames to 6 or 7 a couple of days after the addition. Now, is it coincidence or is this a legitimate method for using extra field bees to boost a weak one? I really don't know.
