Using the Ford 1700 Tractor to Fill a Soft Spot with Wood Chips

Using a Ford 1700 tractor to move and spread wood chips in a soft spot on one of the tractor roads on the property. This will facilitate traversing the area in all seasons without causing significant rutting or concern of getting stuck in the mud.

I had a few mouthfuls siphoning diesel back in the day when I was a kid, miss those days now. That's a nice tractor you have there.

to save my back , i put the jerry can on the running board an use a " pocket pump " battery powered fuel pump , i have a 67 allis d17 , quite a bit higher to lift the jerry can . i dont know if that ford came in a gas rig , but i like its size . great vid , thanks

Its a 1981, only came in diesel, half as much power as yours. My hood is probably about 6” lower too. The pump is a good idea, but then it’s another thing to store, keep clean and working. A caddy with a built in pump would be nice. They’re expensive.

just buy a 12 volt fuel pump
