I've been gigging with my Helix LT for around a year now and I highly recommend learning how to use the "snapshots" . It put an end to tap dancing for me. It's simpler than you may fear and it's a life saver 🤘😝

I have HX Stomp XL and i still don’t really know how to use Snapshots. Given, I’ve never really tried to learn i guess as I’ve always been used to switching effects on/off. I’m gonna give it a shot i think.

@@brandonproctor3639 There are many very simple videos explaining snapshots. The switching is faster than switching presets and I basically use snapshots 90% of the time

Can someone explain to me the benefit of snapshots in a way a 5 year old would understand?
@usmcyounggun68792 жыл бұрын
Hey Ray, I’m sure others have let you know already but Incase you didn’t see it. Captain Lee Anderton brought you up and shouted you out in one of their latest videos on a squier baritone guitar. I immediately thought to myself that Ray should get ahold of Andertons and try to set up a “Captain Meets Stay Metal Ray”. Even having to fly overseas would probably be worth it for the exposure. I’m a Marine so I always root for and want to see good things happen to our Military brothers and sisters, so congratulations and best of luck.

@talonkeeney81602 жыл бұрын
Yo Ray! You gotta use the “snapshots”! Allows you to have multiple patches within a preset without any delay or skipping.
@xanderraymondcharles2 жыл бұрын
Oh dang yes I do! That sounds right up my alley
@francescochissale2 жыл бұрын
@@xanderraymondcharles + if you are able to keep all the needed blocks for one patch on just one line (the upper one) you can use preset spillover as well. It does the same thing as the snapshots but applied to presets. It allows you to get delay and reverb trails from one preset to the other one you are picking, and it prevents cutouts from the loading of the next preset. This comes by sacrificing the second row of effects tho

I learned a trick with the line6 stuff, which is the Snapshot system. Basically within one rig/patch you can change settings on pedals, amps, turn things on/off, anything you want except swap things out, and that becomes a snapshot. That also means you can make a version (snapshot) of each tone for each guitar. Also you can have multiple effects/blocks per pedal, so you can turn off both delay AND reverb for example, with one switch. A tip lf mine is to use the Minotaur (klon) for heavy tones instead of a tubescreamer. If you need more tubescreamer-esque tone you can increase the gain knob to boost the mids more. The Klon is insane in the way it retains low mids growl and high end transient slap, instead of chopping everything like a tubeacreamer does. Sounds bigger. I like boosting the treble/tone, which is a high shelf. For the gate, try the precision gate. I feel like it's a bit more smooth and transparent than the standard. I use it alongside the input gate. Make sure input impedance is set to 1meg. Retains the natural high end presence of your guitars. Personally I actuvate the pad on the input so I can never clip it, and I get all the gain with high drive settings instead of low ones.

Great Video Ray my best bro uses a Helix when his band plays out he said it much easier, I still prefer a Tube Head and Cab but now days everyone goes through the PA system,I guess I need to get with the times great Demo on how too use it in a live show

Try the poly capo for the pitch shifter the simple pitch is good but the poly capo does just a bit better hope that helps you on your journey. Also snap shots would really be down your alley no lag when switching

I use a Line 6 POD Go with my band, Prophet Priest and I love it. Snapshots is the way to go. I mainly use the Friedman Dirty model (Placater Dirty) with a Tubescreamer in front, some delay and chorus...more of a Zakk W or Jake E Lee sound. Then for leads, I'll use the EQ pedal to boost the volume, then add longer delay. This is done through Snapshots so I only have to tap one switch in order to turn on/off multiple effects and change amp volume/gain. I also like the POD Go for its portability; same quality tones, just less DSP so requires a simpler rig, but that's fine for me in the band. We are in Southeastern PA outside Philly. Would love for you to check us out...we have 2 songs on Spotify and our EP drops on the 25th. Always looking for gigs :)

Hey John, currently using a tube amp and cab and I’m contemplating taking my Pod Go out for some live shows. Curious what you use for monitoring? Just a stage monitor , IEM’s? Thanks man!
@johnconnor6706 Жыл бұрын
@@Stratman5150 Pod Go into a Headrush FRFR-108...XLR cable from Headrush to FOH. So I mainly use the provided stage monitors for full band mix, but I also have my Headrush monitor for just my guitar tone. I use the Headrush for practice also. It's only an 8" speaker, but it is loud enough to jam with band (2,000 watts). Not the same as amp/cab, but the portability wins the day for me.

Just watching and you mentioned how you liked the Drop pedal better than what is in the Helix. Can you put the Drop pedal in some sort of FX loop and build that into a preset? I have a different modeler and it’s possible with that. Might get you the sound you like without putting it in front or outside the Helix.
