Using the Power Ball to Improve Grip Strength (Results)

In this video I use a Power Ball (gyroscope) and train every other day with it to try and improve my grip strength. I measured grip strength with a Camry Digital Hand Dynamometer and I tested every 10 days.
After initial scores of 50.1kg and 53.3kg, there was little to no improvement from 20 days of training. On the off chance I'd built up a training effect and accumulated fatigue I did soft tissue work on my forearms and rested for a few days, before trying again to see no improvement.
The Power Ball might be effective for Rock Climbers and endurance work but it simply doesn't provide enough resistance to be used for maximal strength if your grip is already above average.

Mate i hit 77kg on that once, best methods to get strong: 1) towel grip pullups, 2) finger tip push ups, 3) suitcase static bar holds

@@prudniksthumb3781 Yes!! Grip depends on CNS firing by a lot. Sometimes we feel very weak and sometimes very strong :)

i picked up a Dynamometer in the hope that using it every day 2min each hand at 30% of you personal max is meant to reduce blood pressure over time. even if it doesnt work it might increase my grip strength. interesting that your left and right hand readings are similar, there is a 10kg difference in mine, i am going to work on that

Interesting, I didn't know that about blood pressure reduction. In terms of grip strength, as with other muscles, to improve maximal strength it's best to work at around 80%+ of your best effort, though you'll get some benefit from the co-ordination aspect of using those muscles. Best of luck correcting your imbalance :-)

@@SAMARTHNAIKDHURE_ there are over a billion people in india i am quite sure there are several indians that can squeeze that much what i’m saying is if you are squeezing that much you have obviously trained in grip strength training (like a arm wrestler would) yet you post a youtube comment asking if hitting 180lbs on a dynamometer is good according to “your ethnicity” wtf

@@therealjackieheezy @Jackie Heezy I've heard that bad diet and sedentary lifestyle has made the ethnicity weaker over time. So I beleive it would be easier for an average person in Iceland with Viking genetic compared to the rest of the world :/
