Ahhhh!!!! Those teacher Caricatures at the end made me so happy!!!!! Awesome work Court!

Thanks! Yeah, those were fun. It is the lineage of art instructors who passed down the knowledge of the Abstraction, and the artists who inspired Reilly. I talk about them in the premium lesson on the Abstraction, which will be released very soon.

Ha! When I saw that Henry Winkler caricature in the last lesson I was like, "I recognize that face..." but I couldn't place who it was. It's a perfect caricature. I just couldn't wrap my head around it. As soon as I saw the photo, I was like "of course!"

Can the Reilly method work on animal charicatures too?
@CourtJones7 жыл бұрын
Definitely. Rhythm lines can be found in any subject or object you draw. Just look for the simplest way to use C curves, straight lines and circles to connect one shape up with another, looking for subtle changes in planes or values. The anatomy of living creatures makes finding rhythms pretty easy. But it may be more difficult for inanimate objects like trees, mountains or man made items. Because each of those things are more randomly designed by nature or awkwardly designed by a person.

When i do my caricature drawings i end up just starting with the shape i see the most of the reference picture. You can tell it is the person, except they never have hair because after adding so much detail to the face i end up saying forget it and i like it like that anyways.

I randomly saw Bill Nye walking in downtown Manhattan on Broadway a few months back. He was being filmed and was wearing a Sherlock Holmes hat.

Can I recommend the book Classic Human Anatomy by Valerie L Winslow. It's one of the best reference books I've ever found for artist anatomy. You can pick a copy up for less than 20 dollars online.

I think it's a combination of Stan trying to learn how to best teach Arms, which he's working on, as well as promoting Court's course at the same time. Ih ave to say it's a bit disappointing, though, as someone who has purchased the arms course but can't afford to purchase the caricature course yet. We're not really getting videos at the rate that we used to.
@seanramsey7 жыл бұрын
The Caricature course has had a lot of its lessons already finished whereas the Anatomy course is being made as fast as the videos are being released. Anatomy also requires a ton of time consuming research and animations. If you've been following this channel for a while you might notice that the videos are coming out a lot more frequently and regularly than even a year ago. Don't worry though, Anatomy is still chugging along!
