07:04 you can just skip this complicated part and use a SC17 or SC19 cable from RODE. I've also seen people doing that with Rig2 and a lot of extra cables, but you can just buy this 20 $ cable and it's done. It works like a charm on my LIVE events.

2 comments/ improvements: 1) Don’t set the monitor output to “fixed level” then you can use the knob as master fader (fixing one of your cons!) 2) Can’t we use the headphone outputs to run upto 4 monitors?! They will be a bit noisy but other than that

Thanks for that video. It was a huge leapfrog for me to be able to have the monitors work with the mic faders up.

Thank you so much. As you are a sound engineer ,please let me know: Can I ,as a pastor use Rode pro mic ,as hands free mic to address the congregation ;? Will such mics be free from inerfearce from other signals for that use ,or is it good only for use with video camera etc.? Akso ,can it's receiver be connected it to an amplifier without a mixer ? Is mixer essential to connect it to use as a public address system ?

Question - Can you choose which channels are exported to the monitor out? So, say I wanted to have a microphone sending signal to my computer (not out of the speakers), but also have music playing on track 2 that WAS being output to the speakers. I know it's a weird ask, but I have a unique situation at work. Lol.
@eugenebean2344 күн бұрын
Yes you can do this, I do this for a live stream setup where music is being played in the room on a PA but mics are excluded and only sent to the stream

You said here that you can't save scenes... but is saving shows not the same thing which is possible on the RCP II? Also, my second question is: how do you control the monitor/speaker output level on the unit. The faders are only for controlling input level so would it be the multi-function diall that does this?
@kettnercreative8 ай бұрын
Typically saving scenes on an audio mixer would also include saving the fader position, which you can't do. Yeah, you can use the rotary encoder to control the monitor/speaker level.
@MarcusOSullivan1238 ай бұрын
@@kettnercreative I connected the speaker cable into the input like you done here but there was no sound probably because I didn't know that the rotary dial was used to increase the volume level. So I then connected the speaker to the 🎧 one instead. This is a bad idea is it.... That's what my dad told me anyhow?

Hey! Thanks a ton for the video-it was super helpful! I'm looking to get this mixer, but I just want to make sure it’ll work for what I have in mind. I'm hoping to livestream on two Android phones at the same time (one for KZbin and one for TikTok) using USB C connections. I noticed it has two USB ports-does that mean it can handle streaming to both phones at once? Also, I’d like to use two mics at the same time and be able to pan the audio left and right while streaming on both phones. Is there a way to do panning with this setup? I’d really appreciate any advice you could give me. Thanks so much in advance!

Great video as always. I would like to use my Rodecaster Pro2 to video a live interview show. Plan is to have 3 wired lavs, a PA system for the live audience - and I also want to use the Rodecaster to record mic audio to synch later in video post production. Thoughts?

Hey Kettner I'm an owner of the Rodecaster Pro II, and have a question, don't know if you can help me. I'm noticing that the main outputs (L & R) are indeed both TRS balanced, and works well, but for the headphone outputs TRS cables wont work, I end up having to take out a little bit of the cable to make it work, shouldn't headphones be TRS? because of headphones being Stereo? and the 1/4 to 1/8 adapters from Rodecaster seem to be stereo as well, but this makes me very confused, I'm asking this because my main gig is being a livestream operator, and my main interface/mixer is the rodecaster pro ii, but most of the time I do need extra physical outputs and I want to use the proper cable for that, I have been using TS Cables, but I'm really curious why aren't TRS cables working specially if they are supposed to be Stereo Headphones outputs
@APECEpic5 ай бұрын
@CurtisJudd has a quick video sorta on this subject . he says i think one side needs to be a balanced 1/4 y cable on one side from the rodecaster to a 1/8 unbalenced one

Thanks for this video. Very timely as I was just considering renting a RCP2 for a Halloween event with multiple music sources and mics. The auto ducking feature was of particular interest to me since I might not be able to man the mixer at all times and need to ensure the mic lines end up on top. I’ll probably stick with my Mackie analog mixer for the immediate need. Curious though what mixer you might recommend for auto ducking at live events.
@kettnercreative Жыл бұрын
Ugh. I had a section filmed about the ducking but I ended up cutting it when I realized how long the video is. But yes, that's another great reason to use the RCP2 for an event. Typically you need to spend 2-3k on a digital mixer to get a built in duck.
@skyace888 Жыл бұрын
Thanks. Yeah $2K+ on a digital mixer isn't practical for me to buy but maybe rent if needed. Any specific models you can recommend with auto ducking that are fairly easy to use?
