Thanks for the great ideas for UVIVF. Might be able to add some of that to a mirror!

I like both with tonic water and without but I don't like the tonic water in the larger drops. Thanks so much for always having great content!!

Seems to be the feeling for many. Thanks for the feedback!

I prefer getting the natural fluorescence out of my subject. But the tonic water idea is great (I didn't know that, and my cheemist wife said, "But of course"). I have AL's fluro tubes and a powerful four-lens UV light from a gemology store. Oh and if you have protective UV filters on the end of your lens ... don't forget to take them off for the shoot. :0)

I actually find that the protective uv filters make no difference for uvivf as we're only capturing visible light anyway, no UV goes into the camera. The highly fluorescent liquids just make for an interesting addition. Check out some of our other uv shoots for more natural representations of subjects fluorescing!

I wonder if you could put a flower in tonic and have it absorb through the stem? I will be trying that too.

We tried it once, but nothing much happened. I've heard of other people having success doing that so maybe we will experiment more in the future!

I don't understand everything, but it really interests me so I do infrared at the base and I have two sepcrum cameras I bought a UV filter some time ago my question, when you take your photos as you show is this with a spectrum... or a convotional camera THANKS

Conventional camera. There's no need for a converted camera for uvivf.
