How does a dandelion react to Ultraviolet light?

That was absolutely fascinating Ben! Who would've ever known that Dandelions give off so much UV light? Yet another reason why I'm really looking forward to getting my Adaptalux Studio in August! 😊

They actually don't give off a huge amount of fluorescence compared to some other flowers we have shot, but enough for a cool effect. You will have fun experimenting for yourself when you get your kit!

Can you use mirrors to reflect the UV light, or would that be a mess?? I'm just starting out and cannot yet afford the proper set up... So I'm looking for beginner level tips 🤔 Any thoughts on reflecting the UV or how pure UV behaves on mirrors??

Amazing Photo! Is the Adaptalux system good for capturing UV photos of subjects that aren't perfectly still (i.e: Insects or flowers in a windy location)?

We have had some success shooting insects, particularly spiders... but mostly because they do like to sit quite still for long periods. This technique using LED UV lighting arms does require a long exposure so it's not ideal for anything that moves a lot.
