You’re correct. But what I mean by goodbye windows 8.1 is that for what it’s running. Apps will stop working on it and Microsoft doesn’t make security updates for win 7

Its cuz of security reasons No one will use Windows 7 as their host anymore its long dead and companies like Mozilla are cutting off software updates for any computer running Windows 7 8 or 8.1

I used to use windows 7 in march 2022. At that time I renamed by channel to windows 7 to accompany my pc’s OS + it’s my favourite OS

I'm been using Windows 8.1 for 7-8 years on a HP laptop (CPU is AMD E1-6010, 4GB DDR3 667MHz and 500GB HDD) It's so sad to see Windows 8.1 will be out of support soon...

I really liked Windows 8.1, and it is sad to see it now becoming defunct. I still think it looks quite modern, but some elements now look outdated. It's not as bad as many people thought it was, although I can understand why people dislike the removal of a start menu. Are you a Windows 8.1 user? If so, what will you likely do, moving forward?

@Saswat Mishra There will not be any ESU updates for Windows 8.1, and I am not sure what the story is for Windows 10

@saswatmishra3232 do not worry. It's only Windows 10 RTM aka ver 1507 that ends support in 2025. The latest version right now ends support in 2029. There is plenty of time left. And also 1507 and the latest (22H2) are completely different. 1507 uses Windows 8 applications while the latest update to Windows 11 applications
