Somewhat surprised, have seen this unit march much better this this. Still some of the best (marine bands as a whole) in the world. However I think the Cherry Point Band is the best of the US Marine units.

Thanks for the video. It brings back memories. I got to take part in the Rise Bowl parade in 1978-1979. It was a fantastic time. I try to watch it every year. Not quite as much fun as being there but still makes me proud. That and the Bi-centennial celebrations in NYC in 1976. OOH-RAH! SEMPER FI MARINES!!!

It is to the front, the "field" is the area of stripes and always faces the direction of march, the canton (blue) always trails.

The problem was out of their control. The units up ahead kept slowing or stopping and causing a disruption in the right turn. They maintained their military bearing and got through it.
