My son worshiped this man when he was 14 . When he came to a car show in Baltimore people surrounded him and told my son he will not get his vhs copy of FMJ signed because he had hair down to his waist . Well not only did he greet my son kindly he would only sign my sons vhs and ignored the people with the DVD copies . He was a great man .

Your taxes are going to increase anyway simply because your house went up in value. Don't vote to double that tax raise with a additional taxes. I remember seeing Full Metal Jacket movie as a young adult-and the scene in the barracks where the Di dresses down the new recruits-though never having served in the military myself, I instantly recognized that the man portraying the Marine Sargent was no mere actor-but a real life Marine Sargent. That was no “acting”-that he was the real deal. I will bet the other actors playing the recruits probably soiled their drawers during that scene. R Lee Ermey is a first rate example of the men who over past 200+ years have kept us free-I only pray we continue to grow up men like him to serve our Republic. I do have relatives who served in armed forces-many of them gone now (father in Army in early 1960s, uncle in WW2 Army Air Corps, Grandfather who served as seaman in Navy in 1920s onboard CV-1 USS Langley, and older ancestors who fought British in Revolutionary War and again in 1812, and on both sides in Civil War. Every American and most especially those of us who never had to take up arms on behalf of our country, owes a great deal of respect and honor to every one who has served or is serving. I hope that we never see a time again as we saw in late 1960s where our servicemen are treated by public the way our returning soldiers from Vietnam were treated. I for one always go out of my way to thank every veteran I meet and every active duty serviceman or servicewoman I encounter for their service and humbly pay them respect for their work and sacrifice on my behalf. RIP Gunny Ermey and thank you for your exemplary service to the United States throughout your adult life-and you have earned your place in Arlington and our everlasting gratitude as beneficiaries of the freedom you helped protect.

@USA#1 !! Maggot. Shut the hell up. Anyone who has served the Beloved Military can buried in the Arlington National Cemetery. You are a disgraceful sack of shit. You need to shut your trap before someone does it for you. My god. Change you name from USA1 to Maggot of America. Because that is what you are. Any branch, any rank can be buries at this cemetery. I dare you to go say that to everyone who is in that cemetery about "do you have your own TV show" bullshit. I bet you everyone that lies there has or had or has been in a TV show or movie. Half of the Military members can be in a movie or a TV show. You are a disrespectful little shit. Say sorry now you maggot.

As the Public Affairs Officer of USS BELLEAU WOOD (LHA-3) I got to spend the day with Gunny when he and his crew came aboard to shoot an episode of "Mail Call". It was one of the highlights of my career. A great guy, very down to Earth, didn't want the whole VIP treatment, wanted to hang out with the troops. So unlike most of the other celebrities who I had dealt with during my career. RIP, Gunny.
