Having been a member of the PGA for nearly 50 years and obviously being an old guy, my years of experience enable me to understand that organizational structures do not care a bit about the interests or well-being of their members. They are only conduits for ambitious people and a means of support for their personal benefit. Any benefits that accrue to the lowly members are simply sops to keep them paying dues. Cynical, but true.

I’m glad you mention your history with airing grievances through the accepted channels. You’ve never shared this specifically with me but it’s a conclusion I was able to draw myself. You’ve been a high level shooter for a long time. You’ve been involved at a level that I and most are not. I figured that you tried to follow the proper escalation process for complaints and got no where. I connected the dots but it seems that many haven’t. Many people I talk to think you went from happy shooter one day, to the leader of the Howler Monkey Nation the next. That never made sense to me.

A $1600 RO dinner doesn’t seem out of line. Assume 30 RO’s and staff, that’s $53/head for a “thank you for working Nationals” dinner. That fits well within most corporate entertainment budgets.

I think you missed his point, which was that they spent over $4000 on “entertainment” for board and staff while only spending $1600 to feed the RO’s, the people who did all the hard work and stood in the sun for 3 days making sure the match ran..

@@TCB3008 They funded one RO dinner as a separate line item for a match cost (not including the RO Per Diem), then had a separate line item in total for all other USPSA staff who were there for the week. Again, not the thing people want to make it. When we host a tech conference, the total spent on employee meals, etc. for the week (plus setup, teardown, etc.) always eclipses one or two nights of with-customer dinner expenses. It's just math - the employees have to eat every night, but they're not taking clients out every night when they're there before everything starts, etc.
