The BOD has repeatedly broken the rules themselves and not been accountable. Until this changes, they cannot expect to be given respect by the members. It's literally that simple.

The key word that the BOD is only applying to the members and not themselves is “mutual consideration.” Any character attacks they receive is because they already lied, and broke that trust/social contract USPSA has between members and the Org. The attacks are a result of their own behavior.

Thanks for saying what most won’t. Lack of protest is a form of consent. So get tipped for the guys to do so. I’ve experienced system cultures where the paradigm is to bend reality by not communicating about reality. That’s one way to go through life but not one without poor results or consequences as they have now. Sadly, maybe 10% of USPSA members really care about this substantive issues. The rest largely , in my opinion, will be focused on just shooting matches and or moving up in classification. But that is the reality of most group or associative structures. The 10% gets things done and if the BOD disregards that population it will lead to a far worse situation than not talking about it - as a strategy. The Area Four Director should resign. That’s a real thing being talked about here in Texas big time. Heard all about again this Saturday at a match. If he stays the organization represents failure or something worse.

I think what the author of that letter actually wants is to be able to just participate and not have to think about the drama. Which is totally fair, but at their described level of participation it's not really realistic without a major change upstairs.

Basic translation of the letter: "Quit questioning things and just consume." Sounds very similar to what shills for Disney and Marvel say on Twitter when it comes to issues about their films and shows.

So is your actual problem with Leighton, Arizona, or April? Most majors seem to be on the east coast in the summer or fall How are those decisions made? AZ in April is a nice alternative. You certainly don't want to shoot there in the summer, and people have said that winter is their off season. AZ off season is May-August when temps exceed 110. The proposed club is big enough for 400 competitors - will an IPSC match attract that many?

Kinda like politicians. The BOD has taken their stance and they are to proud to just say "Hey we made a goof, let's correct and move on" Instead they will back themselves into a corner and fight until it crashes and burns or everyone just forgets because a new scandal came out.

That letter is basically if you asked AI to make a neutral letter that won't offend anyone... but ends up pissing everyone off anyway. That letter was so ambiguous as to who it might be about. It could be against the BOD, it could also be against guys like you and Pracrical Shooting Insights. He's sitting so hard on the fence with that. If I didn't become a life member like 3 years ago, I would not continue my membership now

Can you give me a quick rundown on why people are hating on USPSA? I was thinking about shooting my first match and starting to get into the sport but as I've started to really research it I've started to hear bad things about the organization itself. Any insight?

@nwaites01 shoot your matches. It's fun and a great training tool to help you improve. Honestly I can't explain well in a youtube comment. Ben has plenty of videos about it. Short story is that the board is playing loose with the rules and our money. They are beginning to act like DC politicians. Or that's what it feels like.

@@armorers_wrench where do we start: they banned a sitting champion who was critical of their leadership- don’t think I’ve seen FIFA, UFC, USTSA, NFL or other pro sports do this. They scheduled Nationals in a state that actively has laws for 10 round magazines - and when called on that they didn’t assume accountability and wanted you to sign a waiver stating if you get arrested for violating this state law they are not liable. There’s been no accounting transparency, which is contrary to charters for non profits. They say you can’t be a board member unless you are a RO, but provide an exception to that rule for a sitting member. Offer virtually no support to clubs running their bread and butter matches. Last but not least they jacked up member rates 60% with zero product improvements in the core product and no justification.

You've obviously never been to AZ. The ave high in April is 86*F & ave low is 60*F with midday humidity at 16%. April & October are the two best months of the year in AZ.
