And a HUGE thanks to the crew of Carney and all our military who keep our enemies from our gates.

USS Carney is a Flight I ship in the Arliegh Burke class that was laid down over 30 years ago. I believe her combat performance has shown that even the oldest destroyers in active service are still very capable ships.
@EnglishScripterАй бұрын
Surely it's been refitted?

@@frankeppenridge2027 So why does this post make it sound like it’s not been.
@RokmononovАй бұрын
Laid down = built. Not as in laid to rest.
@J-bv1uzАй бұрын
@EnglishScripter Sure, these boats receive all kinds of refits and go through extensive maintenance periods. Same way an airframe or an armored vehicle would, but an old piece of equipment is still old. That's why it's impressive when they hold up.

High morale is inaccurate and discipline in the Navy is abhorrent. But constant training and a need from the organization to consistently grind sailors to complete the mission is a constant.

Awesome video! I liked the interviews. Thank you to the officers and the crew of USS Carney DDG-64. DDG-16, DDG-22 and DDG-36 for me in the 70's. I was an FTG. Three deployments during the Vietnam War and two deployments after the Vietnam War. I think FTG's and FTM's are combined now into FC's which was the original rating years ago.
