原子力ありきって考え方だと、将来レールガンを搭載されると目されているズムウォルト級駆逐艦はガスタービンエンジン搭載という事とちょっと矛盾してるよね。大電力供給は必ずしも原子力ありきってわけじゃない。 原子力による電力供給の利点は供給量と言うよりも、エネルギー源の貯蔵量。 燃やせば減っていく石油燃料か、50年間交換必要ないと言われている原子炉。

実際、回転翼の回転中は強い風圧を感じるから、体の重心を下げて安定させようとする(無意識な部分も含めて)意味合いもあるし、第3者的に見ると明らかに回転翼と接触しないだろうと見えても、実際に乗降する人間からすれば当たれば大怪我、下手すりゃ(下手しなくても)死ぬ回転面からは出来るだけ距離を取りたい。 あと、機種によっては身長の高さで届く高さの場合(機体前方だけとか)もあるし、エンジンを切って回転速度が緩まるとローターブレードが垂れ下がって身長に届くような場合もある。 そういう色々な事を想定すると要するに、回転中のヘリコプター周辺はかがむ癖をつけた方がいい。 CH-47の後方から接近するなら、そんな心配は全くいらないけど。

I still prefer steam over electric because electric has more problems and if 1 e catapult fails, the whole lines are toast! Steam cats. however, if 1 fails, the other 3 are still operational to launch aircraft!

メンテナンスと打ち出す力の調節が簡単 （蒸気式はシリンダー等のメンテが大変で空母にあるカタパルトのうち1基は常にメンテ中なほど、そして艦載機は大きさや装備重量で打ち出す強さを変えた方がいいのだけど蒸気式だとその調整も大変）

電磁カタパルトの問題は制御ソフトウェアらしい。 制御ソフトウェアを完成度の高いものにするには、長年蒸気カタパルトで培ったカタパルト運用のデータ蓄積は重要だろう。 自前でカタパルト装備の空母を運用してこなかった日本で、いきなり完成度の高い電磁カタパルトを開発するのは、持っていた国よりはハードル高いと思われる。

君は多分、着艦ケーブルが始めからビンビンに張った状態だと勘違いしてんのかな？ 着艦ケーブルは、高速の戦闘機を着艦時に安全に止めるために、引っ張られる力に応じて張力を調整する機構になってんだよね。 つまり、牽引タグでゆっくり引っ張ってる状態なら着艦ケーブルも緩い張力しかないからそれほど危険と言えないのね。 と言っても、着艦ケーブル自体が丈夫で重量もあるから、試験中は付近に人は近付いてはいけないだろうけど。
