What stones those Corsair pilots had back then. Beautiful plane, but not ideal for carrier work. Currently reading the book Devotion by Adam Makos. It's about the Leyte, the fighting 32 from Leyte, and the battle of the Chosin Reservoir. Amazing stuff!

I guess they think speed and maneuverability will keep them safe...you can spoof missiles and"smart" weapons.... but the battleships would just need a coat of paint...the Yamato ans Musashi didn't have air cover...
