I can't believe they left out Rajan Parrikar's name as harmonium player in the credits. This man is nothing less than a legend online, and anybody seriously interested in classical music in the last 20 years or so would remember his pages which used to be hosted on SAWF. Now he has his own website and a library of archived recordings named after his mother. He writes in an inimitable acerbic style and is known for his antipathy towards a certain recently departed star of classical music ('Banditji' would suffice as clue to those in the know). I can't imagine why Basant Bahar forgot or refused to credit him, I hope it isn't due to any 'issues' between them. Rajan Parrikar to me is one of the indispensable sites to go to when you need credible info on raags. Forgive my bias and ignorance. Also the emcee doesn't seem very enthusiastic or knowledgeable when announcing these artistes. Here he have a disciple of the great Sarahang and he's just casually mentioned as the murid of Ustad Mohammed Hussain Sarahang, as if it was of no consequence. In fact, he doesn't seem to know much about Patiala Gharana in the beginning. One would think that a more respectful attitude could have been taken. This was, after all, a GREAT musical occasion.

@@amarsuleman401 Ustads Faiyaz Khan, Abdul Karim Khan, Amir Khan and Bade Ghulam Ali Khan were worshipped like more than gods in India. Indian classical music listeners have always regretted that Ustads Fateh Ali, Amanat Ali, Umeed Ali etc.opted for Pakistani citizenship after partition.

Beautiful and moving. Especially the vilambit in Bhupali. I have not heard this bandish before ('charana laagi.."). Could you please supply the words. I can make out some of the words "charana laagi piya, mein to tori daasi". Seems like a Sufi bandish. In the classical Sufi tradition, "piya" refers to God, the ultimate love.
