It's not that he didn't like Nancy anymore... It's that he wanted to keep his options open, which is not what the show is all about - like that part is over once he was engaged... he had his chance to explore in the pods. Later, he started feeling pressure and shut down physically but imo, that was a him thing not a Nancy thing. It's not right for people's family to want to fight someone over that. They are the two parties who were going to get married or not. It's concerning that they were this intrusive because what would it be like if they actually did get married and he was really into her. Why can't people see that Bartise just didn't like Nancy for who she is. It was maybe a little of the physical thing but he was so taken back with her stance on abortion and her family was not welcoming. They acted like she was too good for him just because she had more money (and her mother looked like she would have been a mother-in-law from hell). But I think it was mainly the fact that he just didn't feel comfortable telling her hey that's not cool that you believe in abortion if you have a less than perfect kid.
