Notes: - yes I know I spelled “spoiler” wrong, that’s what happens when you edit at 1:00 am 😂 - I apologize for not using the best fish handling techniques in this video (getting hands wet, keeping fish in the water, etc.) I will do better in the future, I’m still learning! Guess that’s why I’m not a fishing KZbinr 😂

Hope you enjoy it!! Since this video I have actually become one of the volunteers for the slam and have learned a lot along my journeys since I’ve now completed 9 slams myself! Reach out through the Slam social media accounts on Facebook or Instagram if you have any questions!

This is an entertaining video! Congrats on completing your second slam and for doing it in a day. I have completed it twice myself, but not in a day. Just need the Bear River for my 3rd. I am also extremely jealous of your FJ, I have always wanted one of those! I know you commented on better fish handling, since you had a net……if I am getting a pic I keep the fish in the net, in the water until right before I take my pic. Then get them back in asap. I was wondering if a few of those were going to make it. Great vid and all the best to you!
@FJX2000_Productions2 жыл бұрын
Thanks! And yes I love my FJ too 👍 and I totally get what you’re saying about fish handling. I’ve even purchased a new, way better net recently (same one used by Tenkara Addict) since the one in this video has holes that are far too large for the size fish I was catching, they can just slip right out! (hence why I usually didn’t use the net)
@benhuffstuff2 жыл бұрын
@@FJX2000_Productions I get it! I was with my friend fishing this summer and he had a net like that. It didn’t look like the holes were big enough to lose a fish but he lost a couple. What kind of net did you get? I have a Frabil. It is lightweight and inexpensive and works great.

Can you make a video explaining how to shift the 4x4 lever please. I test drove a 2009 FJ and had no idea how to shift from 2H to 4H to 4L. I wanted to make sure it worked but I head a terrible grinding noise and felt so bad!
@FJX2000_Productions2 жыл бұрын
So while parked or driving slowly forward all you have to do is pull the 4x4 lever straight back and it will shift into 4Hi. To go into 4Lo however, you must already be in 4Hi, and then you come to a stop, put the FJ in neutral, and then shift the 4x4 lever to the right and then forward all the way. 👍

Can you tell me about a 2008 fj that came with the Ted supercharger from the factory. It has 154000 miles with a 6 speed manual currently. It still runs okay but I’m Leary of the stress on the trans and motor in general because of the supercharger.
@FJX2000_Productions2 жыл бұрын
So no FJs ever came from the factory with the TRD supercharger pre-installed, but some dealerships would install the supercharger themselves on brand new models that came in. So if I had to guess that is what is the case for the FJ you’re talking about if it was purchased new with the supercharger already installed. As far as I know I haven’t heard any stories of the transmission or motor becoming over-stressed due to the supercharger, even at higher mileage. As long as regular maintenance is done and you drive it appropriately it should last a long time!

There is no way all these trout could survive without artificial breeding programs. I highly doubt the cutthroat slam is helping them. they have a roughly 20% chance to die when they are caught, and i'd bet at least the yellowstone cutthroats are only caught even once a month. That said i've paid my fees and will be making my own documentary of this adventure. Hope my own experience changes my mind.
@benhuffstuff2 жыл бұрын
Although I feel like at least three of these fish were kept out of the water for way too long…….I disagree with the comment that 20% of all fish caught will die. I spend a lot of time on the water (at least 2x per month, every month of the year) and I think you would see a lot more dead fish if that 20% comment were true. That being said…….being out of the water this long is one of the things that would do it. Especially in the hot summer months. Regarding the fish survival without the conservation efforts………I agree with you. Especially with the Yellowstone. I really think it depends on the water. I don’t think a lot of these Yellowstones are surviving year to year in these tiny streams. Especially with the drought we have been having. Probably a lot of stocking. In some areas I think they do well and thrive. With that said…..Trout are resilient little buggers! One of the many reasons I love chasing them.

“I wanna see you live.” But not enough to keep him in the water and out of the dirt. That fish died within a couple days. Didn’t bother with the rest of the video.
