However one thing doesn't add up, when Kuon said Yuzuha mother is here too? I thought they showed a tombstone of Yuzuha and oboro in season one.... so still confused about that part.

@@rayquazahere8529 Butchered? It OBLITERATED the butchered remains continuity-wise. The alterations it did would make it IMPOSSIBLE to faithfully follow Mask of Truth even if White Fox *WANTED* to! Among other things, Vurai was confirmed to have survived his battle from Mask of Deception and was found in a river. But not only does the anime imply that he turned to salt like Oshtor, he ALSO falls in a crater FAR from the water.

Maak of Deception game never made 100% clear Vurai was dead or alive, however I wasn't surprised to see him alive in Truth because the way he died didn't make any sense to me vs how Oshtor died (Oshtor was CLEARLY dead in the end) But the anime is not worth watching it anyhow, unless you like bad animes that have fine art (it does not look terrible) and played the game before, because other wise there is zero reason to watch it. White Fox messed up HARD with Itsuwari no Kamen, they should at least go the OG anime route that did most of the story much better. Maak of Truth based anime will be a strange ride, even if it would be an excellent anime it doesn't make any sense without Itsuwari no Kamen, and that one is just plain crap.

Hakoro did not die. read this. fter Hakuoro's final battle with the darker half of Witsarunemitea, the halves join together once again, with Hakuoro's side straining to maintain dominance. He decides to seal himself away so that his other side will not cause anymore destruction, and bids farewell to each of his comrades.

aurrur crying hit hard enough to make me tear up. but this is a great anime and game(i played it) and seem in season 2 (plus the newer games on steam now) seems to carry over a bit more from the game than the anime. and in the game at least seem hakuros did come back unmasked.

@feelfree3. no that's his wife. she lost her memorys as well. but read this. Hakuoro says that he will return and Eruru says that she will wait for him. The conclusion hints that Hakuoro returns through the final scene with Eruru, and this hint is especially strong in the anime. Still this is one little part of the anime that made me cry which was hakuro saying goodbye to her and he will return. still big love.

Like when one character in a game looks at you and says "Thanks for playing". So Eruruu looked at US, and smiled, so she was totally aware then.

Watch the anime when it first come out... unfortunately, I don't understand the story too much but instinctively I know this anime is awesome. SUARA making it even more awesome... then the 2nd season come out, I let a fanboy scream... after around 20ep down the 2nd season, I get the Bluray of the first season and rewatch it again. Finally understand the whole God Da*n story and I can't control my tears... argh.... what am I going to do with all these feels? T________T

I love this anime but after playing the game it was based on I saw just how many problems it had. It sucks that the low budget led to plot exposition and character development that originally existed in the game being cut from the anime.

The anime obviously has a lot of cut content compared with the game. However, the relationship between Eruru and Hakuoro is one thing that I think the anime did much better than the game. When I played the game after watching the anime, I was actually shocked because of how short and underdeveloped the relationship between Eruru and Hakuoro in the game. In the game Eruru is just a bit more important than other romancable girls (so just a bit longer screen time) so her love for Hakuoro there seems unconvincing compared with the anime.

It was sooooooo frustrating to see her not having a proper epilogue with Haku (that epilogue doesn't count) after the amazing first half of Mask of Truth. At least Eruruw is happy now.

Also, one thing that bothers me is that with humans extinct and the master key destroyed (which made me pretty sad) There's no way to maintain the weather satellite amaterasu, the only thing that's keeping the climate of the continent the story takes place on stable. What happens when it needs a course correction in 10,000 years? Or what if it gets hit by an asteroid and deorbits?

@mayonakanoromansu that would be becaause the main story is set in the far future (believe it or not) everyone in the anime with fluffy ears and tails are supposedly evolved humans after problems such as global warming took place. thats why we get all those flashbacks from hakuro into the science labs in our "modern" day and near future.
