Good info. I have a black Utica and an "oxblood" version too. Still hunting a brown '61.

If you check out the Militaria Shows, like the Richmond Gun show and the "Show of Shows" you stand a good chance. Also, just keep your eyes peeled on on-line auctions like ebay. Sometimes you can find a good knife at a good price.

Did they also use the " deerslayer a.c.a. craftsman USA Blade Black ?

I'm not sure what you mean. They did not use a cold blue over the Parkerizing, if that is what you mean.

Thanks for this video. I know the knives are old but can you tell if the swedges were originally sharpened?
@FreeAmericaChannel3 ай бұрын
It does appear that the upper edges/swedges were sharpened on all three of my Utica knives. Great question, thanks for asking!

McNamara what's a smart guy , but did some stupid stuff too. It makes sense to keep your military production tight and unified , but takes away from innovation .

I fully understand the reasons for consolidating procurement procedures and for allowing all services access to the consolidated catalog, I just wish we could have retained service specific markings. To this day the USMC is the only service that routinely issues these knives to combat troops.
