Very nice! I really like Western knives and have a bunch of them. In the 1970s I could not imagine they would fade away as they were in every hardware and sporting goods department in my area.

I agree. China could never compete with these American treasures.

Nice video, I see these quite often and I've never known anything about them

Thanks for watching! Western Cutlery in Boulder, Colorado made these knives for decades and were very common among service members during WW2. They continued into the early 1990s and merged with Camillus and Coleman before finally going out of business. I love their WW2 era style knives and I have a number of them. Check out my L71 SeaBee knife videos for some really great blades.

I would bring it back to the way it left the factory. Awesome grouping

I love those Western cutlery knifes, and knifes with a leather handle. I have a EGW knife that needs a new leather handle

The EGWs handles are not too hard to replace. You can buy leather handle washers on ebay. Search for "Leather Knife Handle Washers". I have seen EGWs with wooden handle replacements that look great too.

I have a Western that my great uncle wore on Iwa Jima. On one side the Black and Red Spacer is gone. If anyone knows someone who could restore this knife please, let me know. It is in great shape except for the spacers.
