Hey Lloyd. Will you be testing those new Inoc-8 shoes? I'm running the Arc this year and I'm betting that the muddy/wet conditions will require some longer lugs.

Thank you, Loyd! Black Diamond has a 7 and a 15 liter pack with dual pole sleeves. Not sure we can buy Instinct in the USA.
@danlane2547Ай бұрын
You can buy Instinct direct and they'll ship. Also, available through online Euro shops that ship to the US. Paying for shipping to return might not be worth the cost though. I guess that's why I have 2 sets of their dual quiver😊.

Big yes to Tenerife. Love the dual quiver idea from instinct. Thinking I could just add a quiver each side to my Salomon pack as there's hooks both sides. Then you also get the best actual pack as well as dual pole quivers 🙂

good to see Inov-8 going to a wider anatomical toe box, they got narrower a few years back and I stopped using them, hopefully I can switch back, 4mm or 0 drop would be better but maybe 6mm is ok.

Highly recommend Tenerife Bluetrail 🤩 We ran the 24km distance back in 2017 - Even that one gives you a taste of those super steep switchback climbs, before descending down to the coast and into Puerto de la Cruz. The atmosphere was incredible and I’m sure it’s even more of a big occasion now that UTMB are involved!

The dual pole quiver sounded like a good idea, but I don't know about anyone else, I need two hands to put the poles away - one to locate and then hold the 'mouth' of the quiver and the other to slide the poles in. Unless the Instinct quivers have a really wide opening and are really slippy inside, I wonder if I'd struggle to put the first pole away whilst holding a full pole in the other hand.

Interesting to see the Instinct dual quiver solution. The Black Diamond Distance packs have been around for a while now and have a built-in dual quiver system. The 8 litre pack is great.

I did see that Hoka had released the new Torrent 4, it’s a very different looking shoe now? I’ll see what I can do 🤔
@zacharygarner9425Ай бұрын
The instinct split - The only hard part with poles is getting them into the quiver. I can’t imagine having to do that twice and with an even smaller target
@Run4AdventureАй бұрын
I think that’s the whole point Zachary, it’s hard to put your poles back in a quiver because you’re putting the back together? I’ve actually got a double quiver to test out so I’ll let you know how I get on with it 🙂

We are currently in Chamonix and really enjoying the town However. The one thing we are really shocked about are the prices. We are here pretty much out of season. All the lifts are closed. But the costs to eat and drink out are crazy. We came here on watching Liga's CCC preparations. I dont not how you afforded to stay for so long. Perhaps you should do a video on the costs of Chamonix. We can afford it so its not a major issue. But Chamonix is more expensive than a lot of places in Switzerland
@Run4AdventureАй бұрын
It’s definitely not the cheapest place to stay and you’re right it is more expensive than Switzerland! The only way we can stay for so long is by camping in our little van and cooking at the campsite most of the time. There’s no way we could afford to stay in a hotel our rented accommodation, especially building up to UTMB! There are some more affordable places to eat in town, where the food is tasty and pretty reasonable. Have you tried Cool Cats or Poco Loco?

sorry but the dual pole quiver solution is just bollox, it's really easy to take out or put back both poles together and i never had an issue with a single quiver. If anything having to take out and put back one at a time would be slower and annoying 😐
@vic6820Ай бұрын
Not a fan either. Personally I carry my poles in one hand the whole time, fully extended, until I need them. There is no way I could be bothered with the hassle of taking them out and folding them back up every time. It's what each individual is used to.
@Not_So_Common_SenseАй бұрын
Vincent Bouillard clearly struggled with his quiver after leaving La Flegere-and I believe he's more experienced than all of us commenting here. Instinct's dual quiver solution seems a bit odd but they could be on to something
