I so love that The Damned have continued with creating new music during all of these years! I feel lucky to know and live their music. Long Live The Damned! If I had a choice to hang out with the Rolling Stones or The Damned… hands down without even having to think it WILL be The Damned! Thank you guys 👍❤️

its funny that they played at this Indian reservation Casino in San Diego(there are about 10 of them out here) Sycaunn. I remember seeing them at San Diego State University Montezuma's Hall. the places Indie bands have to play, sheesh and these guys are legends, Machine Gun Etiquette is a masterpiece!

Was this back in the Mission Valley building? What floor, 5? Never seen such an empty space in that building. Must have been moving out.

Dave Treganna of the Lords of the New Church told me that he got an attic in the South of France from the Guns n Roses cover of New Rose. Why would he nick a guitar lead, but he did pinch the New Rose riff from Beethoven and Johnny Thunders.

I don't understand his Sting story. So Damned didn't have red wine because they were not top of the bill. But Sting wasn't either? And how was Brian (James?) there?
@pamk58167 жыл бұрын
StartabandRoxy The Police and The Damned (as well as other British punk bands) were playing at a punk festival in France in 1977. The Damned were headliners. Brian James started The Damned and had written all the songs up to that point. He was still in the band.

Sensible said "the Police opened for us. Sting came to our dressing room and asked for a bottle of red wine. Brian said '" no, as soon as you climb the ladder of success like us then you can get some booze'". I'm sure it was all tongue in cheek and done in a joking manner as they found it even more funny cause only a handful of years later The Police would become the biggest band in the world circa Synchronicity 2.
