We kunnen natuurlijk niet teveel verklappen, maar het videodagboek is gebaseerd op het dagboek van Anne Frank. Anne moest haar dagboek achterlaten in het achterhuis. Het videodagboek eindigt dan ook op 4 augustus 1944, de dag van de arrestatie van Anne en de zeven andere onderduikers en twee van hun niet-Joodse helpers.
