Just got a jeboa u.v 36 watt for my customers pond. Light didn't work, but the jeboa canister filter works very well, I used to have one on my 50 gallon turtle tank.

I had a 36watt, the sides of the black tube disintegrated turned paper thin and leaked.unit was about 3 years old. had it set-up vertical like yours and with the recommend flow rate for Dinos.

Hi there, great content. I believe the term "outside" refers to it being able to tolerate the elements sunlight rain etc. My question to you is if the uv sterilizer makes protozoan livestock sterile would that mean that any pods going through it would be sterile too? Regards Duzzy🇦🇺

I’ve ran a sterilizer for over 20 years. I run my sump pump through mechanical filter, then carbon, then the UV then it goes to the tank..

Hey Dan. Any thoughts on mounting this vertically vs horizontally. Instructions say it must be mounted horizontally but I can’t figure out why that should matter.

As long as you supply is at the bottom and return out the top so no air is trapped it’s fine mounted vertically

Hey Dan, was looking at the 36w version but was wondering how these have been holding up. Have you by chance checked the inside plastic that the uv light would make contact with? I've seen some reviews talk about a powdery degradation of these units.

I’m almost positive that most of those problems were caused by improper installation like I talked about in the video but I have not had any problems so far I have not taken either one apart yet though probably won’t do that until it reaches a year old where I’m gonna do a review The only reason it would melt out the plastic is because it got too hot and the only reason it would get too hot is if there wasn’t water reaching that part of the sterilizer because of improper installation would be my assumption

No, I’ve been running behind on doing my videos but so far so good. I actually just replace the bulbs probably three months ago in both of them and no issues so far.

The only reason I replaced the bulbs was they recommended it after a year but both bulbs were still working when I replaced them

Are they still working great for you? Also, did you notice any black residue on the inside when you changed the bulbs? I've seen some people mentioning that.
