I rode on the footplate of 1213 back in ~2002. Last weekend I saw her for the first time since then. She's in a sorry state now :(

What a change those couple of years were for Perth's railways. Sad and disappointing that they can't run anything through the suburban sections any more! Also, this is the only clear example of the original A series horn before they were changed a few years later.

Sad that we'll NEVER see anything like this again in WA...😥 If the other states of Australia can run volunteer mainline steam trains by Preservation societies, WHY in God's name CAN'T we here? Is it NSW that has a Heritage minister that approves/allows volunteer group to run mainline steam? Or am I imagining it?

to be honest idk wither but I'm as pissed as u are fun fact I'm from NSW and I moved to WA 3 yrs ago and and before I moved here I went on the great train race with 3526 against 6029 and however QLD and VIC do heritage mainline excursions its just not WA SA and TAS I'm really regretting living in NSW but have one good obvious thing I'm regretting right now

I don't have footage but someone else may. To my knowledge I worked the last run of 1213 on the 28th Oct 2006
