These VHS kill counts have seriously been a blast. I love that we get to see all 3 hosts in one video, even see them play off each other, but the thing that really blows my mind is the effort that’s been going into all of the “to the numbers” segments. @@kosaba11 I was thinking the same, maybe some psychos in the early days of the dish used mayo (there was a weird trend in the 70s and 80s to pair tropical fruit with mayonnaise 🤢) but I've always eaten it with cool whip. It's delicious and refreshing on a hot summer day.

I looked it to make sure I was not hallucinating. The traditional options for the white creamy stuff in Ambrosia Salad are Whipped Cream, Cool-Whip, Sour Cream, or Yogurt. Honestly with learning that this segment was based off the rise and dangers of AI, this ending feels like a metaphor on how AI is only really able to copy what it sees without actually knowing the ins and outs of what it's doing, like how ai art or animation looks unnatural and stiff due to it only simply imitating what animation looks like. While it using the researchers as props for it's work out session is also really funny, it also is thematically relevant to the metaphor. Those workout vids are intended to be followed along to at home, aka needing human input. However Rory literally is unable to do it so it ends up killing and stealing the researchers bodies for it. It parralels how this kind of AI literally can only work if it steals from others, specifically in writing and in art, and even so the result will be unnatural
@Hirundo-demersalisАй бұрын
Reminded me of a small child playing with a live animal fighting for escape; while Rory's victims are terrified, getting horrifically maimed and then killed, their tormentor is acting purely on curiosity and amusement, playing with their broken bodies like dolls. Also brings to mind the Gordy's Home incident in Nope, where Gordy the chimp attacks his costars for no other reason than he was a scared wild animal in a strange environment, then being gunned down.

26:50 I've seen The Black Phone, both Sinister movies, and V/H/S/85, and I completely missed that the same actor appears in all of those (except the Sinisters because duh he plays the same character.) I feel completely oblivious. Also, it's cool to know that there's a link between that segment and The Black Phone. : D

25:01 I know you've gotten other comments about this, but this is actually the song Hamburger Lady by the Industrial group Throbbing Gristle, and is an excellent piece of horror music in the full context. It was also recently heard in the film Love Lies Bleeding by A24. Their whole catalog is great if you genuinely want some spooky music. Them and Suicide's first self-titled album.

I love it when Chelsea hosts a part of or whole kill count. Her delivery of everything is hilarious. All 3 of the hosts are hilarious in their own ways.

Oh my god, that Joe Hendry bit fucking killed me lol Also, the "That's not in the script" with the faces James and Chelsea made was perfect. AND Zoran's "Don't fucking cook shame me" and the little back peddle James did was MMMM chef's kiss good. This was easily one of the best scripts you guys have done. And to top it all off, I haven't seen this movie yet and because of this kill count - I saw it after the first segment. So once again, this channel did it's job well :)

11:46 The actual name of the Aztec god of the dead is *"Mictlāntēcutli"* for those who don't know. Mictlán is merely the name for the underworld. More interestingly, there isn't one god of the dead, there's two. His wife, *"Mictēcacihuātl"* is the other.

And my theory of why she’s naked is probably because she was presenting the sacrifice in her natural, pure state. Kinda reminds of how in lore when people go through the levels of the Mictlan. They are being one by one, stripped of their skin, muscles and bones until all is left is they’re pure bare soul
