What Saab Said its the good side of the army..its also has the dark side. Where no one talks about it. If you complete the service you became an Ex-servicemen, you can work as a security or extend in dsc for 5 yrs., Military hospitals are not much equiped..except the few on operational areas..you wont get treatment. If you get injured..no body will care, the army the govt the defence..end of the day we have go sell our land or take a loan to get treatment or choose govt hospital..its doesnt matter how long it will take..no one will help you.. Cadets who are in final term get injured or death by training accidents..their parents situation will be worse., they get nothing..not even a proper funeral. None of the govt agencies will give you a job or after minimum service period..May be three or 4 serving in tamil nadu police..very few..that too in a basic rank. My whole chilood we ran one hospital to another hospital for my fathers treatment..from command hospital in banglore to aiims in delhi, to breach candy hospital in mumbai..you wont even get a college seat in govt college for exservice men quota..they always say its filled..its an ungrateful..some times most of the jawans feel.. disappointed., the families suffer a lot. Pension is ok after 2010..the best thing is you will have family all over india..i can go anywhere in india and i have a family whom i was very proud..its a big family..we left shillong in 2002 but still we are in touch with most of the families stayed in several quarters. If you still want to join..join as an officer., but dont go for short service or direct entry..always take the best route..Sainink school- NDA- IMA.,
