@@Ayixlia The original Star Wars film came out in 1977, so if we assume F1 circa 1976-ish for car sounds, the grid was dominated by V8s and Ferrari was running _flat_ 12s. Star Wars sound designer Ben Burtt, however, said TIE Fighters are mostly from elephants (specifically from a film called Roots of Heaven), with the sound of regular cars driving past in the rain. I guess this means V12s sound like elephants, but I can't help but wonder why nobody with these sound clips for F1 ever include the V6 engines that dominated during the OG turbo era in the 80s.

In 2012, during the V8 era, I caught the race start at Hungaroring standing near the first corner at the end of the straight. I was standing right next to the fence, maybe 20 meters away from the track, and I kid you not, after the start, as the cars fired up and were approaching the first corner, the ground started shaking beneath my feet. The sound and the power were unbelievable.

Definitely for me, having been born in 1986. The old 1990s Renault and Mercedes V10s would've been dominant when I started watching, then the early 2000s V10s which had a slightly different sound.

Indeed it is. Those are by far my favorite F1 engines. They had somewhere around 950hp without any hybrid assistance or any forced induction, all from just 3.0 liters and they sounded incredible.
