i think another plausible explanation is that the akasha was meant to foreshadow how the dreams and ambitions of people in the form of jana energy could be extracted to power a god, both indemnitium and the akasha system seem to be foreshadowing how visions may work

Vision holders are people who have such impossible dreams that it requires god to give them a hand, and their attachment to their dreams cause them suffering. This is actually what the Inazuma Archon quest about the 3 Vision holders are talking about, all 3 were suffering because of their Visions and it is also why Raiden approved the Vision Hunt, Visions causes suffering. Firstly Tejima's Vision gave him a pointless dream, to wait forever in a small village doing nothing but wasting his life away, it was only when he lost his Vision that he realised this exact fact. Next we had Kurosawa, whose Vision gave him so much ambition, he performed massacres against the rebels to raise his military rank, to make up for his guilt, he decided to distribute food to the poor. Losing his Vision made him realise that his ambitions made him a terrible person and he allowed himself to get accused by the villagers. Then we had Domon, a man whose dream was to be the greatest swordsman, so much that he killed his own master because of it. Losing his Vision made him realise that his ambition caused him to commit such a terrible act and he was paralysed with guilt. Diona is so attached to the impossible idea of ending alcoholism with her blessed wine, Chongyun is obsessed with finding ghosts even if it's impossible for him, Mona has struggled to find if Destiny can be changed, every Vision holder is fueled by their dreams but at the same time suffering from it. And what happened to people who achieved their dreams, like Kazuha's friend? His dream to duel Raiden led to his death. And in Buddhism, desire causes attachment, attachment causes suffering, suffering leads to death, this cycle starts again with rebirth and this forms a Samsara. Visions are not just good things, to achieve your dreams, you have to step on others, ending the dreams and lives of others. This is Karma, cause and effect, your deeds in life affects the world with Karma, increasing suffering. Xiao's dream is to get rid of Karma, which is another impossible dream. Now we extrapolate the points above, about dreams causing Samsara of suffering and Karma, to beyond the Archons, to the Heavenly Principles and the Primordial One, what are their dreams about? What dream is the the Primordial One trying to achieve that's causing so much suffering and cycles of death and rebirth of civilisations? Does Visions help the Primordial One achieve their dream? What does Raiden know about Visions and Celestia? I believe our role as Traveler is to help understand the impossible dreams of the people of Teyvat and help them fight against the dream of the Primordial One, which might be the Destiny sustained by Heavenly Principles. Or maybe we are understanding dreams of the people so that we can eventually understand the dream of the Primordial One.

As of 4.2, Many of things you said are confirmed in the Narzissenkreuz quests. For example, I remember reading a very relevant note about visions in the Narzissenkreuz Ordo, it reads: ...To excise the self is not to die, but rather to die before death. That way, there is no life to be ended. Thus may one achieve eternity. This step is vital, for by this, may one avoid receiving a Vision by some error. *To receive a Vision to sell oneself to the "fate" of this world - to Heimarmene* , and to evermore lose the chance to walk the correct path.

This theory makes me think of Qiqi's situation; if the Adepti hadn't stepped in and used their power to revive her, she would have had her Vision for a grand total of 10 seconds before biting the dust, and now, who knows how long she'll be around before Celestia get their power back. Makes me wonder what level of foresight Celestia has.

Probably another disturbing thing is the fact that people could loose their selves when their Visions are torn away from them. That part was probably what struck me a lot in the Inazuma arc as for a moment it almost feels like people are going through some trauma or loss of mental faculty when they don't have their Vision. It makes it look like Visions are a kind of drug or thing that people will not be able to live without once they fully commit to having it (so Keqing repeatedly throwing her Vision away doesn't count). So it's kind of like imprisonment in a way that Vision wielders are technically under Celestia's control and mercy, because taking the Vision away from them feels like a fate just as bad as death (forever losing your sense of self and as Yae put it, being tossed into a sea with no hope of coming out of it). If I have to guess, I'd bet that Celestia can also take away a Vision (just like Ei) for any reason (I'm guessing they're smart enough to put a failsafe just in case some powerful Vision wielder decides to blow Celestia out of the sky)

The issue is that the game has shown people like ittou who got his vision taken away but was perfectly fine and diluc who gave his to the knights and was fine alongside the few NPCs in liyue and the tea house guy who got his taken by ayato. It’s funny how they’ve done nothing with this idea and just stuck to the worst outcome

In a sense, a Vision is the person's ego manifested and channeled into a usable energy. The ego drives desire, and that's reflected through the chosen element of each wielder. If a person is deemed dangerous or ambitious enough to challenge the Heavenly Principles, then the process of gaining a Vision would begin. I think of it like Madoka Magica's concept of Soul Gems. Once a higher power deems you worthy, your whole being is placed into that gem and it channels power to how you see fit. Seems great and dandy at first until you realize you basically die if your little trinket is damaged in any way.

@amari7782 My theory to this idea is that it might just not be an instantaneous effect that occurs when one loses their vision. Childe gave us his vision, and he still had the drive to fight without it. Another thought to add to this could be that maybe losing your vision isn't the only condition to the aftereffects that occurs, maybe losing faith in the idea that you won't achieve your ambition due to the loss of your vision causes this as many people in Teyvat has said themselves that their goals would be easier and doable with a vision. Of course, it could just be a misstep by the writers when doing Inazuma's story, but I would like to think it's not.

@@kaazaar7729 Uhm all the people ive listed have had their vision discarded for at least a year to a few years for the liyue npcs. the thing with childe is that he knows he has a delusion and foul legacy so he has the means to fight without his vision, heres the issue cuz the thing about the game is how theres conflicting casesif you look at the early liyue characters for example most of them dont care about their visions and just think their neat but nothing necessary for their goals. The issue is that the game legit just tells us their a symbol of ambition and does absolutely nothing more with this topic. whether or not it being a misstep really doesnt matter much as they dont do anything with the topic all together

The only real exception is Yelan whos vision legit came from the sky and ayato didnt get his till the day of his parents funeral so his ambition was kinda debatable. Also theres someone like ning and mona who got visions from others or in nings case she was messing around with an empty shelll and it just activated when she was gonna sell one The problem is too is there's a bunch of requirements that no one knows and the ambition statement really hasnt been all that tested

So, I remember reading about Xiao's vision once in the developer notes, and I was able to find them again on his fandom Wiki page, I'll quote the final paragraph of it below for you! "Although this is somewhat tangential, I'd like to take a moment here to give a little more detail on the adepti in the Genshin Impact universe, given that so many players have expressed an interest in this topic. The adepti are based on the idea of demigod-like "immortals" (仙人 xianren) in Daoism, and are referred to by the honorific title "sanyan wuxian" (三眼五显), literally "three eyes and five manifestations" (but localized in English as "mighty and illuminated"). The adepti are classed as non-human, based on the notion that "All who have nine orifices can achieve immortality through self-discipline," a line uttered by the "Monkey King" Sun Wukong in the Ming-dynasty novel Journey to the West. This means that animals are also capable of achieving adeptus status. However, humans have a higher purpose than adepti in the world of Teyvat, so for this reason, only those of non-human status can be referred to as "adepti" in Liyue. The "three eyes" part of the adepti's title refers to the "third eye" possessed by those with the ability to manipulate elemental energy, which for humans takes the form of a Vision. For adepti such as Cloud Retainer and Mountain Shaper, the human understanding is that they must have an "inner eye" that serves the same purpose as a Vision. Xiao, however, typically appears in a human form, so he dutifully wears a Vision to comply with the expected norm. "

Imagine gathering the experiences of a million musicians and condense that into your own mastery of music. Just food for thought lol

I doubt Celestia has been giving visions away willingly. Ei quite literally started taking visions from her people and has said herself that her version of eternity, the one without vision wielders, is the closest ideal to those of heavenly principles. My theory is that visions are/were a sort of defiance stolen elemental authorities put against heavenly principles. This is (or at least can be), to an extent, corroborated by last Neuvillette's story, where he says that the Usurper lost his own authority, and could thus not overwrite the original order of the world-he could not fully control the elemental authorities at first. That is why Usurper created gnoses, as a means of fully controling the elemental authorities. But, instead of fully removing visions, he made them a sort of contract, where people would receive the power of the elements during their life, but would be used later, after their deaths, to amplify those powers, sort of like return with interest.

Except when asked about why there hasn't been any new Electro Visions, Ei was very much surprised, as she has no say in who or how someone gets an Electro Vision. And besides, Ei had already sealed herself away for 400 years by that point and the lack of new Electro Visions only started a year prior to the events of the game.
@vukkicos5688
@vukkicos5688 6 ай бұрын
@@SaiyanGamer95 As said in last Neuvillette story, Archons do not get to choose who gets a vision and who doesnt, they are given automatically to any person whose ambition reaches the heavens. I think that, at least after the supposed binding of elemental authorities to gnoses, the requirement for gaining a vision had been that person's ambitions need to, not only be strong enough, but they have to align with the ideal of a corresponding archon whom was given the specific gnosis in order to get a specific vision. Since Ei's ideasl during the year of sakoku/vision hunt decree meant eternal stagnation, no human's ambition could ever reach her ideals since humans always strive towards progress, and thus no electro visions have been granted during that time period. Ofc this is all major speculation on my part. Inazuma being so rushed, not to mention it being so early in the Genshin's overarching storyline, prevented writers from giving us a lot more information that is necessary to understand visions and ambitions. We still have no idea why Ei started those decrees at that specific time in the Genshin's timeline when she did, and what was her plan exactly to achieve her never-ending eternity, not to mention the importance of the statue the confiscated visions were imbeded in. Hopefully we are going to get an Inazuma interlude archon quest eventually that explains all these things in detail.

The theory/idea that the Visions are dangerous might make sense actually considering the Mortals Battery theory (which we are familar with), which you said that when a vision holder dies, the elemental power that they hold return back to the "gods", where there are hints of afterlife for many individuals in Teyvat, with the exception of vision holders' fate after death would be different. In this case, they ascend to Celestia. Same thing happens to when "gods" die, they leave residuals. You also say that some of them return to the earth or be a part of elemental powers or remain as archon residue (which is basically like an Elephant's foot in Teyvat). There's also humans being conduits of power as means for Celestia's harnessing elemental power, where vision holders are, instead of resting in peace in the after life, they accursed with immortality. Very likely correlation/connection to Celestia looking like a prison, for holding and containing Vision holders (accursed with immortality) in the afterlife as batteries for Celestia, absorbing their elemental powers for "being chosen by the 'gods'" or being given Visions. There's also the "life force" and "memories" of Teyvat being used as elemental resource in the Leylines (which could also lead back to Celestia). Same thing with gods, they might be also having a similar fate of being used as energy for Celestia. Assuming as if all elemental powers cycle and go back to Celestia. ** If we notice this pattern with people, memories, life forces, and gods as part of the elementary energy/resource for the "gods" in Celestia, and consider also what Neuvillette said in a certain story of in an opera that he watched, which he "relates to the current affairs of the world" (i.e. look for "More about Neuvillette: III"), I think it would be really disturbing, considering that the Visions are actually Chekov's gun to the overall plot of the game (due to vague/mysterious lore surrounding them), which could/might be a possibility that the people, memories, life forces, and the gods, are just objects of consumptions/cannon fodder for the *Heavenly Principles in Celestia* (they're speculated to be dead/like a ghost/weakened/inactive, because they didn't react with the death of the Hydro Archon/ seat of Hydro Archon is gone and given back to a Hydro Sovereign) **

Is a really strong theory, is not mentioned on this video but the visions are actually the reason as to why Lisa chooses to not accept a higher position on the knights of favonius (besides the workload), she doesnt like using her vision much because she's cautious of it, to quote one of her lines ''A Vision may seem like a great tool, but one day, the power one accumulates always finds a way to turn back on you. Should such a day come for me, so long as you're around...Ah nevermind.'' which is a bit creepy. Another interesting line on her character story says the following ''With the aid of her Vision, Lisa acquired the knowledge that she sought. But she also sensed the deep secret hidden in the shadows of that knowledge. For whatever reason, the gods gave humans the key to changing everything, but they did not explain the cost involved. Lisa grew fearful of the truth.'' There's a big secret related to the visions given by the current authority but she refuses to know more cause she doesn't want to defy the gods, Traveler ,Mona and Albedo on the other hand are actively trying to search for those truths. Its something that has been stablished since the very start so i agree that is probably a chekov's gun

When I seen those people in Inazuma my idea was that a Vision actually takes a part of the person, their ambition and crystallises it (so it never diminishes it solidifies) so when the Vision Hunt Decree took their Visions it was like it took a part of their soul. Though the one contrary thing to the taking a part of their soul is people like Itto was fine, so maybe they have the will to overcome and change ambitions or the latter is wrong. I also had a theory that when someone is given a Vision is something akin to exchanging your soul or part of it with the devil for a chance of achieving something, though in this case the Vision is forced upon the person so its more like its shackling them to a certain path or *fate* those the guise the person wants it.

I think visions are crystallized soul. It’s why when one has their vision taken away, they become a shell of themselves. Without a soul, what can one be fulfilled by. Leading into that, I also believe that celestial gives visions out to those of power and great prestige so that when the time is right, celestia can take them away, and cripple the mortals in power and those with prestige. Why exactly, I don’t know, but this is just a theory.

I have a small problem with the part here, 4:57 where you said the seven overseers are whoever has authority over their respective elements to give out visions. But while Nahida was imprisoned, and Apep was too busy being sick with forbidden knowledge and absolutely despising the heavens and their creations, people could still receive dendro visions (namely Rana, who received one in the aranyaka quest). How was Nahida or Apep able to give out visions? You can make the argument that Nahida still had access to the outside world, or that she was still bound to celestia, but then doesn't that straight up make archons the seven overseers, which we know isn't true? If that wasn't enough for people to not receive dendro visions for a period of time, how was it enough for Ei to change her mind about visions for a year or two so that electro visions wouldn't be given out? I think the seven overseers are directly connected to the archons in some way or form, but aren't exactly the people who hold authority over their respective elements, because the archons' personalities definitely hold some effect over who gets what type of visions, but they themselves aren't the deciders of it. Also let's not forget that according to Zhongli, visions are also a form of contract. The seven overseers aren't giving out those visions for nothing lol, so celestia is definitely getting something back.

Ei wasnt exactly fulfilling her duty as an Archon plus she was in an entirely different dimension(Plane of Euthymia) so maybe that has something to do with it. Apep does not have the authority of Dendro, Nahida does. Nahida genuinely loves her people and even though she was caged she still had access to the outside, so their might not be enough interference to stop Dendro Visions. As to how exactly Visions are handed out is still up in the air.

Ei causing the electro visions to not be given out is still very weird and doesn't really make sense, at least to me. According to Neuvillette, the Archons don't have any say at all in the vision distribution. Their power is taken from them regardless of their own will, and they themselves have no authority over whom this power does or doesn't go to. Nahida's Throne is intact, so there weren't any problems with the power being taken even when she was confined, that makes sense. Ei's situation really doesn't. If the Archons' Will, according to both Neuvillette and Ei herself, doesn't matter, than why would the vision hunt stop the distribution of the Electro Visions? And if their Will does matter, why would both Ei and Neuvillette deny it? Maybe I'm missing something...

I disagree. I believe the price for a Vision is entangling yourself into the eternal war between the Light Realm and the Void Realm. The Primordial One creates Visions for people who are bound by fate, so they are only doomed by fate. There is a price, but it is ultimately an honourable thing to serve the one who created humanity even though the PO stole the Dragon's Authorities.

Something I noticed that all but confirms that the archons don’t distribute visions is actually with the harbingers, specifically La Signora. She gives the harbingers DELUSIONS, not visions. She gave Childe an electro delusion, for example. But La Signora is what gives me more evidence, because she was given a CRYO delusion. If archons could give out visions of their own element, then it would’ve been a Cryo vision instead.

Visions remind me of soul gems in Madoka Magicka. The wielders don't know it, but (spoilers) When you're granted a soul gem, your soul is placed inside. When it's far from you, you become unresponsive. It's like an external organ. I wonder if, once a vision-wielder dies, their vision returning is like the remains of the person reuniting.

I look at visions as seeds. They are given to people with strong enough ambitions to bring change to the world or achieve great power. This is so that very person can use the vision and slowly help it grow through usage as well as potentially leeching on their drive to fulfill their desires as a sort of fuel source so it can be used in general. The vision becomes "addicted" to the ambition of its user and when that person dies before fully nurturing (aka ascending) the vision only somebody with a sinilar enough ambition can awaken it and becone the new fuel source. What I mean by nurturing the vision is I mean as they use it thevision gets more and more powerful. Referring to the line mentioning how the gift returned is abundant still I think its like when say you give somebody a computer to use. Over time they may get upgrades for that computer and may eventually give it back. Of course its still used but it got back to you better than when you gave it away without you having to be the one to pay the price. Visions could work in a similar fashion where as the user depends on the vision it slowly gets stronger and stronger inherently like being given a cup of water half full being returned with more water. They take the refined energy the person had created while having the vision and use it for whatever. As for why they get jailed in celestia I think its because they are still acting as the fuel source for thevision and thus the vision still needs that person alive to produce energy. In order to prevent the person from getting strong enough to escape or contest those in charge they lock them away and siphon the energy from them directly.

I have a theory about Celestia! My theory is that Celestia is like hob while the sustainer is like Kiana. I think that Celestia, and I mean like, the island has its own consciousness and that’s how it’s able to move even tho the gods in it might be dead. The sustainer is actually good, however Celestia is evil and controlling her, similar to how hov controlled Kiana and Kiana was good. The travelers purifying ability could’ve purified the sustainer and that’s why the sustainer looked shocked when they caught the traveler, that could’ve been the first time they saw anything with their own eyes in a very very very long time. This could also explain the fact that in game it says “the sustainer is fading away, you have yet to ascend” the sustainer is slowly fading away from her own body, and only if the traveler ascends can they have a strong enough purifying effect to save her life. If you compare hov and the sustainers outfits they also have a lot more parallels than just the hair. Kianas latest battlesuit, hofi is also covered in 4-pointed stars, so that’s a fun detail to point out

I get the feeling that its something akin to the third sponge type theory. It generates the power for the elemental users, but also sends some power back. The vision is left after the death of Kazuha's friend and then he uses, so that probably means their purpose is more important in Teyvat or it was an exception. I doubt the soul prison option will be the end result because that would end the game on a sour note. Either you break Celestia and the prison taking away all elemental abilities or you have to realize that everyone you play with is going to have a terrible fate in the end... unless they decided to destroy Celestia without it affecting anything as a cop out. Its probably closer to the oractrice. What to do with the ascending part... I don't know. They don't necessarily need to be connected.

One thing to remember is that the Archons were the most powerful rulers of their lands before being given a Gnosis and didn't need a vision to be powerful. The war was fought before the Gnosis were given, and some rulers/gods refused to accept or take part in this conflict (even though the war still happen and they were either destroyed or driven out anyway). So it stand to reason that what the winners were actually given was a seat of divinity. Or rather we will call it "additional power" gained from that which was released when so many powerful being were defeated in the war. Celestia of course harvesting all of the power and then dividing some of it into 7 parts for the "seats of authority" issues to the winners. I could be way off base with that, but those are just some of my thoughts sparked by your video concerning the role and true power of the "original" archons before they were tasked with transferring their throne of divinity to a successor when they pass away.

Not all of them were the strongest. Venti was just a wind sprite at the time. The only other candidate was Andrius, who knew he would be a poor fit for Archon, due to his dislike (though not exactly hatred) of humanity. With Rukkhadevata, there was no combat at all; the Goddess of Flowers and King Deshret simply died, leaving Rukkhadevata as the only candidate for Archon. Egria (the previous Hydro Archon) was sealed away during the Archon War by Celestia for her crime. The other candidate, Remus, went made and became a tyrant, being killed as a result, so Celestia made her take his position. We currently don't know anything about the Pyro and Cryo Archons. But you are right about Zhongli being the strongest of his region.

I believe those who deserved visions are people who get big responsibility or task by gods, like harbingers, because they're directly tasked by the goddess Tsaritsa, not just some random people. Just because random characters and npcs have big ambitions, do they deserve visions? No, cause they can create create chaos if one day they lose control by using their visions for bad things especially if it's related to their ambitions. Personally I think visions are like black magic, we know mortals sometimes have desires that are impossible to achieve. So in order for mortals to achieve that impossible thing, they need some kind of 'magic', in this game we call it vision.

Vision can’t be like delusion and gnosis cause it would be weird for neuvillette to grant Furina a vision while knowing about the truth about gnosis. During the Vision hunt decree where Visions were forcibly taken from the citizens of Inazuma there was a quest where the Traveler had to investigate people who lost their Vision. Often deeply impacting the psychology of each of them. With the death of Kazhua's friend and the Electro Vision reignited we could suggest that the Vision resonated with Kazhua but did it alter his psychology? Most definitely there appears to be a symbiotic relationship between Vision and Wielder but I would posit it is the Wielders Will to change the world that causes this attraction.

It might seem weird, but I see a lot of parallels in Genshin to the “So I’m a spider so What?” Light novel. Which side note the VA’s for JP Lumine and Aether are the VA’s for the two main characters in Spider, If you’ve only seen the mediocre anime version it seems like a fairly basic isekai with the twist that the main character is a spider, but the RPG Fantasy story has a lot going on underneath it. Without specific spoilers, the advanced world collapsed due to overuse of the planet’s life force and a war with dragons, then the world was remade with a mechanism to sustain life where people cultivate skills and magical powers which return to sustain the world on their death. So wars are an intentional mechanism to keep the world alive.

Timeaus should have one… Ellen should defo have one.. that blind chick too… 😂 visions seems completely random tbh… if diona got one simply for her desire to challenge booze and Lisa got one simply cause she said I want one.. 😂 something doesn’t add up unless mondstadters are just built different.. aka SUPERIOR.. also btw I forgot who it was but it was in inzuma where a guy had his vision taken and he actually didn’t care it was taken and literally said he was better off without it and DIDNT have any negative effects.. so I detect actual bs plot holes.. 😂 that guy FOUND NEW GOAL/AMBITION with a vision after he had his vision confiscated… I think some of y’all might remember.. remind me of his name cause I forget.. it was part of the quest where we had to go see a few ppl who lost vision to see the effect.. we ignore that one of those guys was completely fine.. 😂 it’s like if ur favorite video game died and all y’all became miserable losers with no life left meanwhile that guy said.. “eh it such a but I guess I’ll find a new game to favorite” 😂💀 so I disagree losing a vision means losing ambition.. rather ppl who lose ambition are actually mentally weak and it’s their unhealthy delusional obsession with an object they got GIFTED that leads to SEKF INFLICTED pathetic state.. conclusion it’s BS unless plot hole where we ignore the guy npc who basically said “eh fk it.. not worth it I’ll just remember there’s more to life then just POWER” 😂
