This is NOT a detailed HOW TO cause of the different years of Crown Vics and Grand Marquis. This is a video REALLY to show how to dial in a V6 Mustang Cluster Into a V8 Car ( Mustang ) or in Vics and Marquis.. This was needed for the Roush Rendition Cobra Crown Vic Build. why have a Vic Tach in one.
Cobra Roush Crown Vic will be a slow build . A few details have to sort out.

I thank you i always think there is another way ( when i am in the mood ) still having tach issues ( think its the ecu ) not grounded or mounting upside down cause on the Merc i took ecu out ( tp do clutch pedals ) tach stop working... I will a try a few more times and just move on and say f a tach ( wasting brain cells ) thats really needed ( i have few to spare )

Thanks John! Yeah i was sitting there and things where not adding up in forums. I tested tach with V6 case ( no signal ) the got the v8 case ( then got a signal ) its the case that makes it a v8...., Still working on the tach I need that fixed for turbo vic ( no luck )

Well you are a body guy so you will see that you need to do a little body work around the Bezel part ( the Contour ) of the bezel to match the Mustang cluster..

About 7 yrs ago I had problems with the charging system, 2 batteries and 3 alternators later I had to put a shim in the back of the cluster to get a good connection

I have to install the cluch pedals there so now that has is issue.. i will try something again and see whats up this is a pain honestly. Think its the ecu needs to be ground and lay a certain way ( theory ) i keep trying

Well these you can clit the miles to the RIGHT miles.. these are just toys for now learning what to do and what NOT to do the vics... Its really a trial error type thing ( the only way you can learn ) I have stock one I do not touch.. Thats why I like clapped out vics so i can do things like this and do not feel away... 1998 or 99 is te cut off... then have to decode thew vics and match it to the Mustang one... You need diagram for each cluster and go back and forth with it

Have you ever run into an issue where Over Drive acts as a neutral? I had the Trans shop rebuild my trans and they said it was something electronic. Could a faulty cluster cause something like this to happen? If I turn the OD off the car runs fine. Sometimes my gauges don't work at all. 2008 P71 car.

its a headache on the Bezel to get it to look right... The key is to get it settle in where you want it ( check it 20 times ) trip area on bezel where it touch ect. Then start making the corners in the bezel around the cluster.. I have another one to try out... I have to get the AERO Vic going again..

there is no guide you have to get pinout for cluster and then your cluster ( then move wire around) it aint that bad on your end

You need the V6 1994-98 or find a v8 one.. If you find a v6 cluster ( you need the guts ONLY ) then you need a V8 case to put then guts in and tweak that tach signal

Cool mod. Older cars really need a tach. MM cluster is much easier swap and can sometimes be had for under $100 on ebay. Regarding your 5 speed swap, you getting the Sport center console? I've seen the ADTR car in person with center console shifter and it looks stock. On a side note, I've driven a clean grandpa MGM hard. Other drivers looked at me like I stole it, lol. MGM with boost that looks completely stock would be my sleeper choice for shock value.

ADTR guys are cool a bit pricy the ( the Brand ) but they do cool stuff and have cool stuff.. Sleeper MGM will be sweet next build i want to try that even when you look under the hood you see nothing. later when I have more focus

you have to get a spare bezel from junk yard and start messing with it.. cause seem top be a 1.5 inch hole ( est ) you can make some..to slip right in place of the clock

When the 03 need a Tach adapter or tach driver ( msd version ) This will work on that vic mine are both 04 Vics. 1 patrol and the other is not. The issue is what certain lights you need and ones that you can live without. The wires are pretty much the same. I was doing two cars at the same time you have one so your good.. I may us a Ford Exploer tach those fit better in the vic bezel vs the Mustang

So by turning the (top) adjuster you can basically turn a 6 gauge to an 8 gauge. Or will still need to order the rear v8 portion of the gauges? Thanks for the help man! Appreciate it

I got stuck with a V6 cluster so I tried to figure a way ( and it worked ) I tried the v6 cluster and adjust it tach ( did not work ) then i got the v8 back install the guts from the same v6 cluster/ tach and it worked. its best to find a v8 but note you still have to work the bezel there will be a gap

Well you need to fab abd re-pin cluster it isnt a direct fit...You can not use the Foxbodt tyle and you can not use anything in the 1999 and -up cause they started to use the PATS System in the cluster and the plugs are different.. 94-98

you have to work the bezel either heat gun 9 which i did not do do ) I just used fiberglass and just worked the shape... thats after you fit the cluster in your position.

The other day I was refueling my TC, and I leaned on the back quarter panel, and I was able to push the body horizontally. Like it has a lot of play. I want to put the work into it, but my friends call me crazy whenever I tell them that I want to put money into the vehicle. Maybe one day I'll pick up a more mint condition panther platform. You got me lost bro why would you go do all that changing the Mustang gauges all you need to do is go get a cluster out of a p71 police car with the tach in it. Oh and as far as ain't nobody going 150 mph in one of them wrong I have the p71 cluster in mine with 140 mph speedometer and have been to 153 according to the Google satellite

@@bstfordchannel923 Me and my wife took The Beast up on 295 SOUTH from the Mt Laurel exit towards 42 to Camden. I have a 140 mph speedometer from the P71 and then my wife was using the Drag Race app to clock it. I wrapped the Speedo went all the way around back to the 1 st gear spot and at 153mph she told me I was done but it was only at 5500 rpm, but I had out run the satellite

Well the 2001 is poretty much the same the deal is getting the right digram pin-out for that year of car and then math with the right year of mustang cluster 1998-99 is the cut off ( pats system ) or part of oit is in the mustang cluster
