Jeff, I would have used some oval stainless exhaust tube to make an intake and move the MAF to a more spacious location.

funny, you get an idea, then form plans, then when you start the work and really get into it, you find the job sort of designs itself. you just have to see what's happening and stick with it. sure is entertaining to watch somebody else do this stuff.

Exciting building projects! Have fixed old cars but nothing close to what you do. :)

Jeff, the reason for the electric vacuum pump is that those engines have a lot of valve overlap and under some throttle conditions generate little manifold vacuum, that elec pump is necessary I think. And the correct term for the "hammer work" is "massaged"...

I may even remove the booster all together in the future as unassisted brakes have much better feel.

Great work doing those engine mounts. When you did the first ones I though they looked like a dogs breakfast. But this YOUR car not mine. Then you fixed them in the end anyway. To a much better mount and tidier looking ones too. Good work.

Putting the air intaked through to the boot area of the car is a bad idea and should be relegated to the junk box. The rear of the car will be a low pressure area and the engine will have to compete with the air being sucked out of the boot when you add the necessary vents. Then there's the issue about ducting through a structural member that similarly is not a good idea. The result will be a loss of power that would not be welcome. The existing air intake is where Porsche designed the engine to breathe from and thus must be considered as the optimum position.

Glad to see the back of those old engine mounts. I've seen the Alfarrari ones so I'm sure these will be beautiful! As someone else here said I think, why not just move the MAF round and connect the inlet with a simple hose?

The Pvc may look different on the outside, but my first idea would be to open the cap exchange inner parts. Cap should have clip tabs holding the cover on

Jeff just wondered why you didn't choose to have the 2 parts of the subframe bolt together by having a dowel on the back part that fits inside the front tube. Is it because of the lack of height to get a bolt through it

More logic going in to this build, it looks like the mods to the subframe are going to make your life easier if you have to do some serious maintenance after a hard days on track. I would recommend a bigger persuader for bodywork.

As this is to be a track car could you remove the rear panels and just have the outer panels on a dreaded square steel frame held on with dzus fasteners. Easy rear access is everything they tell me.
