A Nissan Pathfinder got stranded in the fresh snow on the eastern side of the Cascade Mountains. The Jeep Grand Cherokee on tracks is still waiting on the hydro assist steering setup, so instead I took the V8 Willy's CJ2A. When we got there I used the winch to spin their truck around, then used the @MattsOffRoadRecovery @YankumRopes to pull them a couple miles up the hill and to a point where they could drive on their own. Then on the way back out we found on of the local residents stuck in the ditch so we pulled her out as well

When I got my CJ-7 I drove it up Chumstick mountain until I was plowing snow and got stuck. This was long before cell phones and I didn't have a winch. But I did have a shovel (ok, an entrenching tool), a come along, some rope and a big thermos of hot chocolate with peppermint schnapps. The dog and I had a blast. The fire back at the house never felt so good. I've still got that Jeep.

Sweet looked like alot of fun with my Jeep I had a piece of plexiglass in the back so the rain and snow can't fly up to the windshield just drilled four holes in the plexiglass and tied it in works just fine cheap and it keeps you warm LOL poor dog was eating snow haha but it look like you guys were having a lot of fun thanks for taking us with you

Matt you absolutely love the snow. I can't see you living anywhere else. You have a great enthusiasm for life. It is fun when what you do for a living is fun too. Few in life have that opportunity and sometimes I think you consider it just fun. I know with every industry there are some gloom moments. Mine was mainly management especially at the end. They were starting to "spin their wheels". I know they got rid of me but then they got rid of so many of the knowledgeable ones-like me. On the one hand I was sad to see a major player in the electronics world crash and burn. On the other hand I realized that I had no business staying there. 2020 was the end of the retail side and just a shell company online. RadioShack!

To be on the safe side, like you usually are, jeeps with small block Chevy's needs a rev limiter (unless maybe you have a 4340 bottom end) since they rev so quick and when geared low like jeeps are. You have more power than traction and less weight than anything that the engine was ever in and the revs can get away from you way too quick. I've had several friends throw a rod with the same set up. Chevy's are awesome engines but stock ones can only take so much before they self destruct. I would keep the rpm's below 6200 to be safe. My 421 is good for 8500 rpm's but it was built (dirt track engine) to take it but I have it limited to 7200 just to make it last longer since it cost me $6500 to have it built and I had the block and heads. I enjoy all your video's and always look forward to the next one. I thought you were waiting on snow to use your tracked XJ. I guess when it gets deeper and colder you will. I would freeze my butt off in the jeep. I would be like your friend and cranked the heat when he got back in the truck.

Lol.....I love that little willy's!! I had a 1985 Toyota pickup years ago (solid axle,same year they went ifs) and put s 350 sbc/t350,quadrajet carb with an iron 203 transfer case. That thing was stupid fun!!!! Lll....under weight and slightly over powered(?)....just like the willy's.

There's now repairing that tailgate from accident When my dad had the family auto body shop. He hated the GM wagons with drop down and slide up glass clamshell tailgate. They were a terror to get right. Don't even try to realign rails etc etc.

If you're willing to go out there you need shovels and a winch. We used to use a big come along winch before we could afford electric. Not that hard to dig yourself out...
