I actually have a theory that the malice is just a decayed Vaati who survived through the ages to eventually become powerful enough to take over the husk that is Ganon in BotW and AoC, stringing him along as a proxy.

@@goroakechi6126 i dont think so, vaati isn't fully evil, he was turned evil, not only by his past but by the hat itself, not to mention, vaati got tricked by ganon, even if he wanted to spite ganon in revenge, i believe the best way would be by becoming either another antagonist or anti-hero and being part of defeating ganon, if he wants to take over after that thats something else, but he would get rid of ganon, he's learned he's lesson not to trust him and considering how smart he is i dont think he would try amd puppet ganon but rather try to destroy him as soon as possible

to be honest i wouldn't know any better zelda villian than vaati. We have A Handfull of Villians that no one cares about (Veran etc. etc.) Then we Have villians out of the terrible DS games.(Bellum, Marado) And then we Ganon who just appears everywhere and kinda is getting old and just steals the spotlight of other villians such as... ... Zant he was awesome until the decision has been made to make him not the final boss and just replace him with ganon. (for real if they would have flashed out his bossfight more and made him the final boss without a reapperance of ganon it would have been amazing.) Then we have Ghirahim who also is just a pawn of someone else because he is the pawn of... ...Demise the first Villian in the Timeline of who's hates keeps on reappering as ganon. He is also know as the Final Boss THAT CAME OUT OF ASS NOWHERE AND DID NOTHING EXEPT FAIL. Vaati had his own goal and he was one of the only Villians in the series that didn't know that the Triforce was in Zelda. Ingame he figures it out knocks link out cold for like 30 minutes and has turned the entire Hyrule castle into his own fortress. Not to mention that he allready started a Ritual to Obtain the Triforce and all he needs is one more hour to become unbeatable and the ultimate force in the world... And then they launched some unplayable fourswords games that ruined his character and I deny that anything that happens in the four swords games is canon

@@rayzuke1232 Ganondorf and Ganon are vastly different people with different motives though. Yuga was a good villain. I have not played Spirit Tracks. The Shadow Nightmares were good. If you count Hyrule Warriors, Cia, Volga, and Wizzro were nice. Also, Minish Cap released after both other Four Swords games to create a backstory to Vaati and th Four Sword, so without those, Vaati wouldn't even exist likely.

@@rayzuke1232 Rayzuke Well, both of the Four Swords games came out before Minish Cap. Taking over Hyrule Castle ? Agahnim did it and suceeded in his plan (breaking the seal between the light and dark world). The same could be said about Yuga... While Vaati have an interesting backstory, great themes, battle and design, he have almost no personality at all, his goal is pretty weak (the Force have absolutely nothing to do with the Triforce) even in MC. There are far better villains than him even if they serve another one. Heck if you want villains with their own goal: Majora is better than Vaati, WW Ganondorf is better than Vaati. He's not the worst villain of the franchise but he is alongside the likes of Veran or the first incarnations of Ganon, being cool and all but that's it.

Well unfortunately I don't foresee Vaati returning in the future because of 2 reasons 1. Nintendo killed him off in the Child Timeline 2. Nintendo hates bringing back villains like Vaati. At best Vaati will make a cameo in a spinoff game

He should have been the villain of Triforce Heroes instead of The Lady who is the worst villain of the franchise ( I mean that she has no actual impact to the Zelda timeline and honestly since the events of the game don't even take place in Hyrule we don't even need to this of Triforce Heroes as canon since it's that much of non important)
